90 Day Fiancé couple Ariela Weinberg and Biniyam Shibre have been spending time apart after rumors of them getting married, but there's a good reason why Ariela is in Ethiopia alone. New Jersey native Ariela and Biniyam started their reality TV journey on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 2. Pregnant Ariela moved to Biniyam’s country and gave birth to their first child together, Aviel Shibre, prior to getting engaged. However, TOW season 3 showed major cracks developing in their relationship when Ariela got her ex-husband Leandro Fosque to stay with them and later flew back to America only to accuse Biniyam of cheating on her.
While Ariela was in Princeton for baby Aviel’s surgery, she saw Biniyam ghosting her and heard of him turning their family home into a party house. Ariela vowed to never return to Addis Ababa because she was embarrassed by Biniyam’s antics. However, the couple seemingly patched things up during their brief stay in Kenya which is where they’d spent the first few months of their relationship. During the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Tell-All, Biniyam was in America with Ariela after receiving his K-1 visa. In December 2021, photos shared by Ariela’s family revealed they got married in a Jewish ceremony in New Jersey.
However, in January this year, Ariela flew back to Ethiopia without Biniyam and didn’t really explain why. The 90 Day Fiancé couple celebrated Valentine’s Day on different continents as Ariela is still in Africa, and Biniyam is spending time in California with his friends. In an interview with InTouch, Ariela revealed that she’s actually in Ethiopia for a good cause as she is “visiting areas of conflict and food scarcity.” Ariela's goal is to raise awareness and funds to help the people.
“There is a drought in Ethiopia as well as ongoing ethnic conflict,” Ariela explained. She hopes people will get to see what’s happening through the work she is doing. This way, they will try to help themselves. Ariela has also given launching her own NGO a thought. “I am in the process of registering my own non-profit in the U.S,” she shared. The young mother wants to continue doing everything she can for the country that she loves “so much.”
Ariela’s love story with Biniyam has always been praised by 90 Day Fiancé viewers who find it inspiring. Unlike American cast members who usually go the other way and fail to grasp or respect their foreign partner’s cultures, Ariela has always promoted Ethiopia in the true sense. Viewers may have had their doubts about Ariela and Biniyam’s relationship in the start, but now, opinions about them have started to change. This is why when Ariela even comments on divorcing Biniyam, her followers know that she doesn’t mean it and is simply joking.
