Ariela Weinberg told an Instagram fan why Kenya is such an important part of her relationship with Biniyam Shibre on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. A very pregnant Ariela made her way to Ethiopia in TOW season 1 so she could be closer to Biniyam as they welcomed their baby, Aviel. Ari and Bini’s whirlwind relationship has become the topic of many debates on 90 Day Fiancé due to instances of the baby’s baptism or her ex-husband Leandro's visit. The latest scandal to rock Ariela and Biniyam’s love story was her accusing him of cheating. But Ariela has also given Biniyam a second chance by suggesting they start over in “neutral territory,” Kenya.
During 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way episode 10, Ariela revealed that in the two months that she had been away from Biniyam in America, things really deteriorated between them. A bunch of text messages from Biniyam’s friends and family members, and photos being backed up on Ariela’s iCloud, confirmed that he turned their family home into a party house. Ariela also accused Biniyam of cheating on her and asked him to get himself tested. “I’m not coming back to Ethiopia,” added Ariela as she gave him another chance and suggested she, Avi and Biniyam could move to Mombasa. If not, they could figure out the custody and co-parent together.
New Jersey resident Ariela promised Biniyam on 90 Day Fiancé that she would not keep him away from Avi. “So I’ve decided to go to the neighboring country of Kenya,” added Ari, since they’ve been there before. In fact, earlier in the episode, Ariela claimed that Kenya was where they “fell in love and where Avi was conceived.” A curious Kenyan fan wrote to Ariela on her Instagram post saying they were surprised to hear that she met Biniyam in Mombasa. In her response, Ariela spilled, “Mambo 😂 we met in Ethiopia but a few months later we left to stay in Mombasa 3 months.”
Kenya was never mentioned before in Ariela and Biniyam’s 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way storyline over seasons 2 and 3. When fans were introduced to Ari, she spoke about how she took a cheap ticket to Ethiopia and was waiting for a taxi outside a local hotel and saw a very attractive guy. Ariela yelled out, “Don’t I know you from somewhere?” and it actually worked. It was an instant attraction since Ariela really liked Biniyam’s smile. They talked for a few minutes and then exchanged phone numbers. Ariela called Biniyam the next morning, but he didn’t pick up the phone; however, he called her back later that day.
While Ariela was not looking for a boyfriend and she tried her best to avoid him, she did end up calling Biniyam several times. After three months of dating, Ariela got the unexpected news that she was pregnant and soon flew back to America, only to return again. It was perhaps during these three months that Ariela and Biniyam were staying in Kenya. Future episodes of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way might give TLC viewers more insight into Ariela and Biniyam’s relationship timeline as they try to fix the issues between them.
