Ariela Weinberg and Biniyam Shibre from 90 Day Fiancé season 9 are returning to the franchise after two successful seasons of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. 30-year-old Ari and 31-year-old Biniyam first featured on TOW season 2 when she was pregnant with their baby Aviel. The spin-off documented Ariela’s struggles while adjusting to life in Ethiopia and dealing with Biniyam’s family and religion along with her pregnancy woes. 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 2 explored Biniyam’s jealousy over Ariela being close friends with her ex-husband Leandro Fosque. The couple almost split when Ariela flew to America for Avi’s emergency hernia surgery.
There were also issues when Ariela invited Leandro to stay in her home with Biniyam. Biniyam worried Leandro would woo Ariela back to the U.S. permanently, and he’d lose her forever just like his ex-wife Bria who left him for a new man and took along their son Simon. Biniyam’s biggest fears came true when Ariela did go back to Princeton. However, he spent his time partying in Ethiopia and even ghosted Ariela who realized she needed him to be in America with her and Aviel.
While things seemed rough between Ari and Bini at the end of the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season, a new set of challenges await them in 90 Day Fiancé season 9. When Ariela found out that Biniyam was spotted with unknown women in his home, she was too embarrassed to return to Addis. This also soured Ariela’s relationship with Biniyam’s sisters Mimi and Wish. After a scene in the trailer which shows Wish throwing a glass of wine at Ariela’s face, viewers want to know how dramatic the couple’s storyline will get in the upcoming episodes. Chaos is expected between the warring twosome because of jealousy and cultural issues. As Ariela and Biniyam are now in America, a new set of struggles has yet to be explored.
The preview at the end of the 90 Day Fiancé season 9 episode 1 showed many shocking scenes from Ariela and Biniyam’s upcoming plot. Biniyam’s MMA match that took place in August 2021 was showcased in the teaser. The match also had the controversial 90 Day Fiancé star Angela Deem in attendance along with Andrew Kenton from 90DF season 8. As expected, Biniyam won the match, and Ariela was on cloud nine considering she could go back to managing his MMA career. However, a different scene revealed that Biniyam was training with a female fighter behind Ariela’s back.
Ariela has confessed that she feels like Biniyam is deceiving her. It’s possible that once he comes to the U.S., Biniyam only feels the need to focus on his career and not on Ariela and his son. Besides, viewers have wondered if there will be more encounters between Biniyam and Leandro in 90 Day Fiancé season 9. Not too long ago, social media sleuths noticed that Ariela was back in Ethiopia and Biniyam was in Los Angeles, which sparked separation rumors. Ariela’s recent birthday wish for Biniyam was also lackluster. Even though Ariela and Biniyam reportedly got married in December 2021, 90 Day Fiancé is certainly hiding many more secrets about their relationship that viewers are dying to know.
