Fans of 90 Day Fiancé got a look at the A.R.E. Church that Tarik Myers goes to in order to keep himself centered, as he wanted to marry Hazel Cagalitan there, but she was not happy with his choice. To many fans, it looked like it was a carbon copy of a cult or Scientology group.

The Virginia Beach couple met three years ago online after Tarik failed to find any Thai women to chat up. The father of one went to the Philippines back in 2018, where he learned that Hazel was homeless. He proposed to her. Tarik later revealed that Hazel has come out as bisexual, and he agreed to help her find a girlfriend in Virginia. Fans have noted that Hazel looks completely different from three years ago and feel that she may not be moving to America for the right intentions.

Tarik took Hazel to his favorite restaurant, the Hair of the Dog Eatery, where he overwhelmed his 90 Day Fiancé love with fried food and portions. Hazel was not impressed as she told cameras, "The breakfast here in America, there is sweet food, salty food, greasy food and bigger sizes. I'm going to be fat here." Tarik also had another surprise up his sleeve, as he tried his best to convince his fiancé that they shouldn't marry in a church.

The Virginia Beach native took Hazel to the A.R.E. (Association for Research and Enlightenment). Right away, T.L.C. viewers felt like this center was a bit offbeat. The health center and spa were founded by Edgar Cayce, who was a clairvoyant. Cayce claimed he could channel his higher self. Tarik explained that the center is where people go to learn about holistic medicine, psychic and spiritual experiences, and religion. Tarik was not a fan of Hazel's extreme church, where they spoke in tongues. He tried explaining what the A.R.E. center meant to him, "I guess you would kind of call it a cultural center for the enlightenment. It's a place that is welcoming to all ideologies of faith, all of them, all religions and non-religions, like me." According to the center's website, Edgar Cayce was a man who gave psychic readings, in addition to being a Sunday school teacher.

While the 90 Day Fiancé couple walked around the center, it was obvious that Hazel was not about to walk down the aisle there. Even though she said she would think about it, she told cameras that she hoped her soon-to-be husband would listen to her more.
