Anna Campisi and Mursel Mistanoglu recently made their return to the 90 Day Fiancé franchise and, unfortunately, they thoroughly bummed out viewers. The couple popped up on a recent episode of 90 Day Diaries, but their segment didn’t go over well with fans. After season seven, Anna and Mursel have been taking big steps in their marriage. However, fans didn’t enjoy their complicated relationship and found the entire thing to be “depressing.”

As one of the most unlikely couples of season seven, Anna and Mursel perplexed many fans. From the minute Mursel arrived stateside, it became clear how significant the couple’s language barrier was, and Anna’s three children seemed to genuinely despise Mursel. Shockingly, the two got married, and now Anna and Mursel are planning for more kids through the use of a surrogate. Though the couple briefly appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: Self-Quarantine, they haven’t been a major part of the franchise. However, if their 90 Day Diaries spot is any indication, fans are in favor of Anna and Mursel remaining on the fringe.

On a recent episode of 90 Day Diaries, Anna and Mursel revealed their surrogacy baby plans to two of Anna’s sons, and their response was not what the couple was hoping for. After Anna told her kids she and Mursel had “really good news to share,” the boys excitedly guessed they were getting a divorce, and it was more cringey than fans could handle. The family’s entire dynamic seems unhealthy, and many fans were depressed by their segment.

Many were sympathetic towards Anna’s sons and what they’ve had to go through. “I honestly feel kind of bad for her kids, (Mursel) was such a weird guy who made no effort to bond with them and Anna kept telling them they were in the way of her happiness,” a fan commented on Reddit. Others agreed that Mursel doesn’t seem to have invested in his relationship with his stepsons, though others put blame on Anna too, saying, “She made it so clear that her kids were an inconvenience to her relationship.”

Though Anna and Mursel were once suggested by fans as a good couple for the franchise’s spin-offs, the 90 Day Fiancé pair isn’t resonating with fans the way they once did. Trying for a new baby can be a wonderful thing—that is, as long as the whole family is on board. Anna and Mursel’s surrogacy plans clearly don’t sit right with her sons, but the couple is determined to move forward despite what the kids think, and it’s bumming fans out.
