At 55, 90 Day Fiancé star Angela Deem admitted to having been a smoker for 40 years, but will hypnosis help her quit the cancer stick? So far on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 6, Angela has had plenty of expensive weight loss surgeries to shed 100 pounds. While Angela admitting to wanting to knock 20 years off herself to look younger for Michael when he came to America, her other goal was to live longer. However, fans often called Angela out for her terrible smoking habit, which also saw her carrying boxes of cigarettes and lighters inside her chest across spin-offs and seasons. But in a last-ditch effort to stop smoking and attain her best look yet, episode eight had Angie trying hypnosis.

During a previous 90 Day Fiancé season, Angela, who’s now being pressured into spending her money on a baby instead of weight loss surgery by Michael, actually believed she could have one. But a biopsy on her reproductive system revealed Angela was bleeding abnormally and could have had a tumor scare. However, Angela was safe from cancer in the results, but that’s not where her health problems ended. Angela confessed to feeling shortness of breath, and during her Los Angeles consultation, Dr. Samuel Kashani also told her the risks smoking could cause in post-op care. Another plastic surgeon, Dr. David Saadat, outright refused to do Angela’s facelift and also threatened to fine her $1,500 if she did not quit.

Angela visited Hypnosis of Savannah, where she met Thomas Safrin. The meemaw mentioned that smoking prevented her from not getting a facelift and also about smoking making an abscess in her mouth worse. Angela confessed that she didn’t believe in hypnosis, but she didn’t want needles either.

Hypnosis In 90 Day Fiance 2

The 90 Day Fiancé star revealed that Michael’s culture and family looked down upon her as she smoked, and back home it's an act associated with “party girls.” Thom spoke of wanting to help do away with 90 Day Fiancé star Angela’s stress and anxiety as well as the smoking, with a success rate of 93%. Viewers saw Angela smoking her “last cigarette” and, after an emotional goodbye, sat in the therapist's chair with her headphones on and focused on her breathing and the sound of his voice. In her mind’s eye, Angela was asked to go back to the first time she smoked and imagine she didn’t have a cigarette, and then move forward into adulthood while imagining she had never even been a smoker in the first place. As Angela opened her eyes, she expressed how hypnosis “was a trip” and “relaxing” while being “light as a feather.

Angela promised Thom that she’d take control over her mind to quit smoking by feeling positive. However, earlier this week, Angela was seen smoking on multiple occasions during parties in Los Angeles. On 90 Day Fiancé, Angela claimed that Michael was the trigger for her smoking, and perhaps it was because of him that Angela huffed and puffed away all weekend.
