Fans think Angela Deem attending hypnosis therapy to quit smoking on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? was a facade as TLC fans have caught Michael Ilesanmi’s wife, yet again, with a cigarette in her hand. Trying to find her way out of the cigarette addiction she’s had since she was a teen, Angela sought hypnotherapy as a last measure after trying patches, gum, and even medicine. Fans have been embarrassed by Angela smoking right before and after the risky surgery. Although she had a successful therapy session, Angela smoking again in her latest Instagram photo has really let fans down.
After losing 40 pounds within the first five weeks of weight loss surgery, Angela looked happy. But upon being told that smoking would cause an ulcer in her stomach, which would have to be operated on if ruptured, Angela realized the graveness of her bad habit. Confessing that she was smoking a pack a day, Angela was advised to try acupuncture and hypnosis. She chose the latter due to a fear of needles. To her concerned doctor, Angela revealed Michael being distant to her throughout her surgery journey was a trigger causing her to smoke her stress away.
The hypnosis session that followed made 90 Day Fiancé star Angela commit to quitting as she smoked her “last cigarette." Fans saw Angela calling the entire therapy session “trippy” while hinting at her finally giving up smoking after 43 years. Another major motivation for Angela was her facelift. Dr. Saadat refused to perform the procedure and dropped Angela as a patient until she could stop smoking. The doctor made a contract that required Angela to pass a nicotine test after staying cigarette-free for four weeks. If she failed, she would be fined $1,500. Recent Instagram photos suggested Angela may have gotten the facelift. But after seeing her latest IG story reposted by @90dayheadlines, fans are doubting it.
The photo shows Angela with an NYPD officer, who appears to be a fan. Angela is skinny and shows off her 100-pound weight loss with confidence while smiling at the camera in a comfy, long, black dress. But apart from noticing Angela’s excessively long nails, fans also saw her holding a cigarette. “Why worry about weight issues if she is going to keep smoking?” asked one fan. Someone else added, “Claws and a cigarette so classy!” Another fan commented, “She is still smoking!!! She paid all that money for a new body and is killing it from the inside out.” Many fans also observed the “hypnosis didn’t work” and a different fan noticed Angela’s “turkey gobble” and concluded she may have not received the facelift yet.
Fans were initially worried about Angela getting weight loss surgery at 55. But now that it’s a success, the risks arising from her smoking have left them concerned still. Plenty of viewers agree that 90 Day Fiancé star Angela is much thinner, but the smoking is giving her a haggard look, adding decades to her face, and defying the entire purpose of getting surgery to look younger for Michael.
