Since her debut on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 2, a lot has happened in Angela Deem's life. In the 2018 spin-off of TLC’s popular 90 Day Fiancé series, Angela revealed the story of how she met and fell in love with Michael Ilesanmi, a man from Nigeria who she wanted to marry. Angela was 52 years old back then and working as a nursing assistant with two grown daughters and six grandchildren. Michael was just 30 years old, but when he messaged Angela on Facebook and wished her good morning by calling her “pretty,” the Georgia woman couldn’t resist.

Angela was wary of falling in love with Michael, who, according to her, belonged to the “scamming capital of the world.” But Angela flew to Lagos anyway to meet Michael, thus beginning one of the most destructive relationships in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. Angela felt that Michael was ashamed of her and her mind was filled with trust issues about him. However, Michael proposed to Angela and the pair returned on Before the 90 Days season 3 as they waited for Michael’s K-1 visa approval. Angela went to Nigeria again, but this time around, her trip was even more controversial than the one in season 2.

Michael and Angela argued about dishonesty in their relationship. In one iconic scene, Angela threw the same cake that Michael had bought to apologize to her on his face. Fans started noticing Angela’s abusive tendencies towards Michael but the couple planned a future together anyway. Michael wanted a baby with Angela, though at her age, she didn’t have any eggs left. Angela’s daughter Skyla was asked if she could "tote" Angela and Michael’s baby but that hasn’t happened yet. In 90 Day Fiancé season 7, Angela learned of Michael’s visa denial and on her third trip to his country, where the couple fought more over dishonesty, lies, and of course, children.

90 DAY FIANCE ANGELA

It took 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 5 for Angela and Michael to get married so that his spousal visa process could begin. Angela and Michael’s wedding took place in January 2020, after which she had to rush back to the U.S. to tend to her sick mother. The pandemic happened soon after, which meant Angela and Michael couldn’t meet for two years. In Happily Ever After? season 6 Angela had high hopes aboutMichael moving to America and she planned to surprise him by losing weight. Perhaps Angela was afraid of Michael straying and finding a younger American woman in the States, but the opposite happened when she was the one who was flirting with her weight loss doctors instead.

After undergoing five surgeries in just one day, Angela ended up losing over 100 pounds, and also lost her commitment to Michael. Michael called out Angela for getting cozy with her plastic surgeon Dr. Obeng during their last 90 Day Fiancé appearance on the Happily Ever After? season 6 Tell-All. The fact that Michael hadn’t approved of Angela’s surgery and her meeting with a lawyer to discuss divorce didn’t help. Angela and Michael broke up at the reunion even though she still decided to help him out in his ongoing visa process. Spoilers suggest things are better between Michael and Angela now and she’s currently in Nigeria filming for a new spin-off, possibly giving a happy ending to the story which began on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days.
