While 90 Day Fiancé star Angela Deem was breaking up with Michael on HEA, fans also wondered why she was wearing a mask on her face. Episode 9 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? saw Angela trying a disgusting green smoothie with greens and grape jelly, admitting she hadn't quit smoking after weight loss and was also considering divorce with Nigerian husband Michael. But through it all, Angela flaunted an unflattering accessory, a mask that she wore well below her nose. This odd face mask of Angela’s made fans wonder what the 90 Day Fiancé star had hiding behind it.
The drama levels in Angela’s storyline were at an all-time high this Sunday on 90 Day Fiancé, as she suspected Michael was cheating on her yet again. Angela attempted to put a tracker in Michael’s cell. An embarrassing showdown at an IT showroom followed, with Angela lashing out at Michael for not sharing his WhatsApp location. And after she was done making Claudio uncomfortable, Angela headed home to tell Michael that they were done, and this was the end of their 90 Day Fiancé relationship.
Although Angela has been wrong in accusing Michael of being the “trigger” for her excessive smoking, a question the 90 Day Fiancé star asked her during the unfortunate phone call was seemingly triggering. After Angela hung up, Michael called her back to defend himself and despite his wife’s harsh words, asked her, “Why do you cover your mouth?” Angela’s reply to Michael was a sassy, “None of your business” but her answer sounded odd to fans. A Reddit fan posted, “What is Angela hiding by constantly wearing a mask that often only covers her mouth?” to discuss with their fellow 90 Day Fiancé fans.
The TLC viewer noticed how during one of Angie’s recent interviews on the show with her hypnotherapist, she “constantly pulled her mask up to cover her top lip” while her nose stayed uncovered. The hypnosis expert, meanwhile never wore a mask, as the fan noticed. During the same scene, however, 90 Day Fiancé star Angela had claimed that she was wearing a mask because she had an abscess in the mouth and wanted to quit smoking because it was making the abscess worse. Furthermore, Angela declared that every time she fought with Michael, it affected the abscess.
“If she just wore a regular mask she would look like a normal person during covid but instead she has to wear some bizarre face curtain that is not a thing and looks like a psycho,” a 90 Day Fiancé fan commented on the thread, as someone else asked why it was covering not her mouth but instead Angela’s neck. “Abscesses or herpes?” asked another TLC viewer, with someone else concerned whether it was “inside or outside” Angela’s mouth. A few fans also deduced that Angela must have gotten new dental implants, or done her lower facelift and Kybella instead.
Interestingly, Angela also wore the same mask during the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 5 Tell-All, and back then had said she had some dental work going on, and she had to “keep it covered” so that air wouldn’t go in and make her abscess which was “pretty bad” even worse. Fans are blaming the disaster on Angela keeping poor dental hygiene, although she’s also named Michael as the culprit. Another 90 Day Fiancé fan theory suggests that it’s a case of “TLC frauding” with Angela already having some “work done” and hiding it to reenact some more doctor scenes.
