Iconic 90 Day Fiancé star Angela Deem has confessed she had weight loss surgery to stay around longer for her husband Michael Ilesanmi. Angela and Michael got married in season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? despite major fights, fiascos, and the 22-year age difference. Distance played its part in worsening the relationship with Angela still waiting for Nigerian Michael to get his visa. Angela decided last year to get a shocking makeover, by using plastic surgery to lose 100 pounds. And in her new season 6 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Angela has revealed the real reason for her weight loss decision, in which Michael, who was against it, plays a major part.

During the Tell-All for the previous season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Angela has claimed she didn’t like her figure. “After the third month, I’ll drop about a hundred and something pounds,” added Angela, 54, who’s since then has had five surgeries in a day, including gastric sleeve surgery, a breast reduction, and liposuction. Michael had expressed disappointment by saying he doesn’t like “artificial stuff” and is into “big things.” Michael added that Angela was “lucky we are far apart” but 90 Day Fiancé star Angela was not going to heed his advice either way.

Meanwhile, on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Angela confesses “Michael don’t realize that I’m not comfortable with all this weight,” despite him loving her for how she is. The nursing assistant shares how in the past, she’s tried, “dieting, fat burning pills, and none of it’s worked.” This led Angela to think of something drastic: getting gastric bypass surgery in Los Angeles. “In the end, this surgery is for my health. It’s gonna help me be around longer for my grandkids, and Michael,” mentioned the 90 Day Fiancé celeb, while admitting that the kids are afraid of her dying and becoming “a ghost.”

Angela added how at this point in her life where she is 54 and her husband Michael, 32, she wants to be “the sexy wife, the sexy Meemaw, the sexy mother,” and doesn’t want him to walk around, “thinking he’s with a grandma.” The 90 Day Fiancé celeb joked that by getting rid of the extra weight, she wanted to be “the sexy b*tch, everybody talks about.” Being fully aware of the risks the weight loss surgery comes with, deep down, Angela knew what she was doing was right for her, and hoped for Michael to come around. It has also been revealed that the first year of marriage was “hell” for Angela due to Michael acting shady in Nigeria. While he may accept his fitter and healthier wife, will Michael’s possible infidelity with Angela is what actually cuts their 90 Day Fiancé relationship short?
