One of the queens of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise is Angela Deem and she recently celebrated a year of marital bliss with her husband, Michael Ilesanmi. When fans rewind their reality TV relationship to 2018, they see that things weren’t so sunny for the Georgia-based "Meemaw" and her Nigerian husband. While Angela was scared of getting swindled as she met Michael on 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days, she also found out that he cheated on her. She chose to forgive him.

Angela met Michael for the first time on 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days season 2 in Lagos. After having dated online, the couple made the decision to overlook their 23-year age gap, cultural differences, language barrier, and multiple failed K-1 visa attempts. They planned to marry, and Angela and Michael tied the knot in 2020. During the initial online dating days, Angela was feeling insecure and had doubts, as Michael was talking to girls online and looking at their photos (she made him unfollow these profiles on social media).

The trouble didn't stop here, as Michael then revealed to Angela that while giving a ride to a neighborhood girl who didn’t have money, he accepted oral sex in lieu of payment. However, Michael did admit that it was the only time he’d cheated on Angela. That didn't stop Angela from getting suspicious, because Angela ended up hearing a mysterious ringtone during a video call, which made her think that Michael has two phones and that the special tune was for “another woman.”

Similarly, Angela has taken offense at having to meet three beautiful young expatriates. Just before their Nigerian wedding, Angela caused a ruckus by storming out of a club where she accused Michael of eyeing a stripper. However, these drama-filled incidents seem to be a thing of the past, as almost every day on Instagram, fans see Angela sharing adorable TikToks and showing love for her long-distance hubby. She also shares her own weight loss makeover updates.

It was during an interview with ET that Angela mentioned how she used to fight with Michael and then think that he could be “five percent or two percent” after a Green Card. "But when I get my senses back, I really feel like in my heart that it ain't,” Angie confessed. “I'm gonna stick by my man and I'm gonna fight for him and that's it,” the Hazlehurst resident added. Still, Angela admits to having “pushed his buttons to the limit” and thinks Michael stayed with her because he’s “in love.”

Angie admits that what she does is chaotic but says it comes from her being “hurt in the past.” She stated that she was hurt, “not just one time." In her opinion, at her age, she's going to be on guard. Still, Angela laughs at how hard she may have been on Michael in the past, saying that, “getting rid of him is not easy.”

The real reason behind Angela forgiving Michael for his past blunders is the fact that she believes in his love for her: “Because that’s real love, you know? Let’s face it, being on the show four times, he could’ve moved on a while back.” Eventually, reality diva Angie did learn that her "oko mi"really truly” loves her. No wonder Angela now shows fewer signs of insecurity, and more signs of being deeply in love with her husband, in spite of her 90 Day Fiancé franchise star Michael being 5,759 miles away.
