Angela Deem lost over 100 pounds during 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 6, and she has not been shy about her opinions on her new figure. Though her then-husband Michael Ilesanmi did not support her many surgical procedures to get her dream body, Angela was adamant about getting it done. She has been flaunting her new body, a move that has divided 90 Day Fiancé fans and has even started advertising weight loss products on Instagram.
Angela and Michael first appeared on Before the 90 Days in 2018, revealing that they met on Facebook. Despite Angela being 22 years older than Michael, the pair dealing with several cultural differences, and Michael's K-1 visa getting denied, they finally tied the knot in 2020 in his native Nigeria. With the pandemic, Michael and Angela were separated once again, as she was not able to travel to him. Many 90 Day Fiancé couples with large age gaps break up on the show, but fans thought Michael and Angela may have beat the odds, despite rumors that they are officially over now.
On Happily Ever After? season 6, Angela shared that she weighed 273 pounds and was ready to undergo a series of surgeries to boost her self esteem. With a breast reduction, liposuction, and a gastric sleeve surgery, Angela lost 90 pounds and got her weight down to 190. Michael was worried about the dangers of Angela going under the knife and did not want her to look artificial, but she went through with it anyway. Since then, she has had plastic surgery on her hands, a facelift and a breast lift. Concerning future procedures, she said, "I got to get a Brazilian butt."
Despite 90 Day's Michael not supporting Angela's decision, he and Angela were thrilled with the results of her surgeries. On her reasoning for getting the surgery, Angela said, "This surgery is for my health. It's going to help me be around longer for my grandkids and Michael." In an episode of Happily Ever After?, Angela went shopping after losing the weight and explained that, "as a bigger woman, you know, I just didn't feel comfortable. But today, putting on these clothes, I really felt myself." At the explosive 90 Day Fiancé Tell-All, Angela showed off her slim figure to her castmates, saying, "I lost 20 more pounds in the last two months and have hit my goal weight. I can't wait to show it off" and jokingly added that she is ready to be on the cover of Vogue.
Though Angela has a new look after 90 Day, Angela still managed to bring the same level of drama to the reunion, even flashing Michael and the cameras as she stormed off. Angela certainly seems more confident after her procedures, as she has become an influencer on Instagram with her sponsorships for weight loss gummies. She is more active now, as she has also started sharing dancing TikToks and feels more comfortable wearing whatever she wants. 90 Day Fiancé fans may be divided over Angela and her behavior towards Michael, but she seems happier than ever with her new body.
