Over the course of her lengthy 90 Day Fiancé journey, Angela Deem has gained love and notoriety, and now, one of her connections, Douglas Wooten AKA "DJ Doug," has been arrested on murder charges. While Angela does have a lot of critics because of her larger-than-life personality, the TLC star’s close circle also includes some problematic people, including Wooten, who was her potential wedding planner. Fans may already know about Angela’s daughter Scottie, who’s spent time behind bars.
While Angela has appeared in multiple 90 Day Fiancé seasons and spin-offs so far, documenting her long-distance love with Nigeria’s Michael, her first introduction was via 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 2. The Hazlehurst resident is currently married to Michael, and tied the knot in a ceremony that took place in his home country. However, back then, Angela dreamed of an American wedding and met up with Dougie Wooten, who had featured on 90 Day Fiancé as an “event coordinator,” at a potential venue that she had shortlisted. The episode that aired in August 2019 had Michael awaiting a response on his K-1 visa status as Angela and daughter Skyla visited Dougie’s Cotton Patch venue. The wedding had to happen within 90 days and Dougie assured Angela that there was “spur of the moment” availability for an American-themed wedding and African-style reception ceremony. Back then, Dougie and 90 Day Fiancé star Angela had discussed having traditional African décor and food, and hired staff. The rental could cost between $6k and $8k. Angela Deem found the price tag to be steep, and Dougie famously told the 90 Day Fiancé cameras, “She wants caviar and champagne on a malt liquor budget.”
While Dougie did not show up again on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, InTouch has reported an incident that took place on January 4. Wooten was booked in the Jeff Davis County Jail in Hazlehurst, GA. On January 7, a warrant was put out for Dougie’s arrest, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The 90 Day Fiancé cast member was charged with “felony murder, home invasion, armed robbery, cruelty to children 2nd degree” in connection to the death of a man Marcos Ramirez, who was found dead due to gunshot wounds. Fans could be expecting Angela Deem to share her thoughts on this new 90 Day Fiancé scandal, but it looks like the "meemaw" will choose to stay mum and focus on her ongoing weight loss transformation.
The 90 Day Fiancé icon is prepping for her speculated spin-off, which will chronicle her weight loss surgery and journey to fitness, as she waits for Michael’s arrival in America.
