Anfisa is one of the most memorable international brides that were ever featured on 90 Day Fiancé. Watching her spend time with her man Jorge often made us question whether the hit TLC show is fake or real. She is brutally honest, direct, and doesn't talk unless she has something to say. Much of the quotes that come from her mouth stuck with fans because they reflect her polarizing personality and create some of the show's most awkward scenes.
Anfisa has quite a lot of fans out there because of her no-nonsense approach. On the other hand, a vast majority believes that she was abusive to a point that made the show hard to watch.
"Jorge Is Having His Period."
Jorge is often accused of being misogynistic, but Anfisa is just like him in this regard. When Jorge shows that he is vulnerable and emotional, Anfisa mocks him and says that he is having his period. Of all the red flags on the show, her bullying might just take the cake.
Jorge is just as guilty of this as she is, though. He failed to stand up for himself. Instead of wondering why she acts that way, he should realize that he is allowing such behavior. Once he realizes how much he abandoned himself in this relationship, he will struggle to forgive himself.
"You Don't Feed Me ..."
Jorge bends over backwards to satisfy Anfisa's needs. One time, he got her donuts, but she wasn't impressed at all. Ironically enough, she held food in her hands while she told Jorge that he doesn't take care of her at all. "You don't feed me, you're nothing ...", she says, but Jorge tells her he disagrees. It's hard to watch them bicker; they are one of the most hated couples on the show.
Anfisa had high standards. She expected Jorge to do everything for her, as if he is on this planet to serve her. She was always honest, though. She told him what she expects of him before she even first came to the US.
"I Don't Think I Wanna Be Married To A Liar."
Anfisa was abusive to Jorge, but that doesn't mean that she wasn't right sometimes. "I don't want to be married to a liar," she told Jorge, and we have to give it to her—she has a point. Jorge wasn't honest with her because he didn't want to upset her and was probably also afraid of her.
Jorge was a liar. It turned out that he was in debt and that he was involved in some criminal behavior. It turns out he lied to everybody, not just his Russian wife.
"I Think I Deserve Everything."
The unhappy couple went to see lawyers because Anfisa wanted a post-nuptial agreement. In the confessional, she said that she wants to take more than 50% of his assets when they get divorced. In fact, she said that she thinks that she deserves absolutely everything.
The scene is especially painful to watch because she punches Jorge on camera. He flinched too, which suggests that she might be hitting him off-camera as well. If the genders were reversed, not a single viewer would tolerate such abuse. At least they are both one of those people who have made the most out of appearing on the show, so it wasn't all for nothing.
"You Should Have Behaved Last Season!"
Anfisa doesn't have a lot of friends on 90 Day Fiancé because the way she acts towards Jorge. She didn't get involved in other people's business, nor did she offer unsolicited advice.
"She thinks she's better than everybody in this room!," said Pao. Anfisa had a reply ready: "you should have behaved last season." The fights never got physical, but we wouldn't be surprised if it did.
"I'm Going To Get My Green Card, And Then I'm Gonna Leave You."
Anfisa was blunt about leaving Jorge as soon as she gets her green card, but it's like he was deaf. He hoped that things would get better somehow, but nothing was changing between them.
Anfisa did end up leaving Jorge, which was definitely the best thing she could do. He lost a lot of weight since they parted ways, and Anfisa decided to start studying business administration.
"They Should Stay In Their Own Lanes."
Anfisa and Pao had a huge fallout on camera. Pao wanted to get Jorge's attention, which ultimately escalated into Anfisa telling Pao to stay in her own lane. It's such a suave way of saying "mind your own business."
Whereas Pao is hot-headed, Anfisa is cold and calculating. She doesn't say much, but she always cuts right to the chase.
"I Am Only With You For Your Money."
When Jorge and Anfisa met, he promised her that he will get her everything she wants if she agrees to come to the States and marry him. Little did he know that he won't be able to back away from such a statement.
When Anfisa came to America, she expected just that: Jorge spending a fortune on her. "I am only with you for your money" is what she told him.
"If I Was Ugly And Fat, Would You Be Dating Me?"
When Jorge was playing the victim role, Anfisa brought up a rhetorical question: "If I was ugly and fat, would you be dating me?" The truth didn't need to be spoken, but it was a loud and clear "no."
Anfisa might come across as confident, but this statement holds a deeper truth. Anfisa doesn't think she has anything else to offer than her looks, otherwise she wouldn't devalue herself like that. She didn't really like Jorge, but she didn't like herself either. People who love themselves tend to treat others better, as well.
"Bring Me My Red Bag WITH MY MAKEUP!"
Anfisa's most famous quote has to be the line she yelled at Jorge in the car. Her patience was running thin; she has mentioned before that she is a punctual person, while Jorge tends to always run late. Jorge needed to get his wallet, and, when he left the car, she raised her voice: "bring me my red bag with my makeup!"
She then proceeded to throw the keys at him. They were on their way to the interview for a green card, and they were supposed to look happy. It's one of the worst ways to go through the visa process. Instead, Anfisa was being hateful, and Jorge put up with her abusive communication. Luckily, she has changed a lot since those days.
