Season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé resulted in Andrew Kenton being labeled a villain, as well as his mother Lori after she fired back at Andrew's ex-fiancé Amira Lollysa online for claims of racism. Andrew and his mother are a tight-knit pair who run a childcare business together in Roseville, California. Lori has been backing up her son's claims that Amira was a liar who forged aspects of their relationship for online fame. However, one vitriolic comment that she directed to Amira on social media raised fan concerns over racism. While Andrew and Amira's relationship is absolutely over, the mother and son addressed her poorly-worded response to Amira in a Screen Rant exclusive comment.
Andrew is currently receiving more fan criticism after part 1 of the season 8 Tell-All aired on Sunday night. The daycare worker has already been called out by many viewers for being controlling and manipulative towards Amira. After the French beauty stated she would only video call into the Tell-All if Andrew was not present, he angrily stormed off stage and seemingly exited the filming. However, the 32-year-old has since revealed on social media that his reactions in the reunion have been misrepresented, as he was only present for the segment involving Mike Youngquist and Natalie Mordovtseva. Meanwhile, Andrew has been busy on social media attempting to expose Amira as a villain and liar.
The majority of franchise fans have sided with Amira, especially after Andrew's mother commented an insult on an Instagram photo Amira shared of herself in a brown dress. "You look like [an] ugly piece of mud that is [rubbed] all over the wall. Just like your personality and morals," Lori commented on a photo of Amira in a brown outfit. Andrew and Lori addressed the comment in an exclusive statement. They referred to the comment as "incredibly clumsy" and stated, "Amira is obviously a beautiful woman." The mother and son duo said that Andrew quickly asked his mother to remove the comment. "The claims of racism are understandable as there is plenty of room for confusion in her bumbled approach, but in all honesty the comment was about Amira’s mud colored wardrobe, even still, it was clumsy and inappropriate," Andrew said in a statement on behalf of himself and his mother.
Though Andrew and Lori acknowledge that what she said was out of line, they still believe that they have received an unjust edit. Andrew has been extremely vocal about expressing that he thinks TLC gave him a terrible edit. He has gone so far as to lean into the villain persona and rebrand himself "D-Bag Drew." He added that his mother's comment to Amira came at a bad time. "My mother was speaking from frustration. In this entire process she has not had an honest voice," he said. "We’ve been turned into characters and the true story has been fictionalized to our detriment and at our expense." The mother and son have been posting many claims about Amira in the wake of the show fallout. Lori has been claiming that Amira demanded money from Andrew, while Andrew is working to prove that she lied about her detainment and other aspects of their relationship and travel plans.
While Andrew believes that he is disliked due to bad editing, some viewers have been expressing different opinions on social media. Critics of the 32-year-old have stated that his social media attack against Amira is what solidified his villain status. Many fans of the franchise think that Andrew has shown his character apart from the show due to his determination to bring Amira down. Meanwhile, the French beauty has opened up about the alleged emotional abuse she endured in her relationship with the American. Amira has cited Andrew as being manipulative and controlling. Due to such allegations, as well as his claims against TLC editing and leaving the recent Tell-All, it's unlikely that Andrew will be featured in more 90 Day Fiancé content.
