Andrew and Amira have already had a rollercoaster of a journey on season eight of 90 Day Fiancé, and she has not even made it to the US yet! The pair have had one of the most dramatic storylines of the season, with a loophole during the coronavirus pandemic leading to Amira being held in a Mexican detention center. Fans, and Amira, seemed shocked to hear that Andrew still wanted to continue with this travel plan, this time in a different country.

Andrew met Amira on an international dating site, and the pair instantly hit it off. The California native flew out to Las Vegas, where he met Amira in person for the first time. After only a few days of being together, he said he knew she was the one and proposed before she flew back to France. Then, as is standard with all 90 Day Fiancé couples, they eagerly awaited the K-1 visa that would allow her to start her 90 days in the US with Andrew.

However, the pair have a time limit on when they will be allowed to use the visa before it expires. The coronavirus pandemic led to the closure of US borders from European travel, so Amira could not fly from France into the States. The two found a loophole where they could both fly to Mexico, quarantine for 14 days, and then enter the US legally, since travel from Mexico was open. Fans instantly saw Amira seemed to be more uncertain of the idea than Andrew, and her worst fears came true.

While Andrew made it safely to his Mexican resort, Amira was immediately detained after getting off of the plane. She could not contact Andrew, who seemed busy living it up at the resort, until days later. Fans were quick to criticize Andrew before he posted receipts to tell his side of the story. When Amira got out of the detention center in Mexico, she was immediately sent back to France. She seemed relieved to be home again, but soon after, Andrew came up with a backup plan. He made an ill-timed suggestion that they try again, this time in Serbia. Fans were quick to mock him, jokingly saying that his next travel plan may not be a country, but outer space. Who knows, his next idea may be that they meet up on the moon before they can get into the US.

So far, it seems like Andrew and Amira are not on the same page about the travel plans. They are jumping through a lot of hoops to get her into the country before the visa expires, and seem desperate to make it work. Let's hope we get to see a lot more from them throughout the season, on this planet or any other.
