Steven Johnston has quickly earned the title of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 3 villain, but viewers have found a new hero in the form of his partner Alina's mother, Anna. 90 Day Fiancé fans are furious over the way Steven tries to use his Mormon religion to control Alina even though he does not follow the beliefs of his church. Pillow Talk couples and fans both praised Alina's mother for putting Steven in his place along with Alina.
Utah native Steven made it clear that his Russian partner Alina needs to save herself for marriage and convert to Mormonism. However, Steven revealed to Alina that he had made out with approximately 100 women and had sex with a handful of them. Despite this, Steven still expects Alina to abstain from drinking wine or coffee. Steven sat down with Alina and her mother and tried to convince her mother to also convert to Mormonism for the sake of their future children. However, Alina and her mother quickly flipped the script and instead called Steven out for his hypocritical beliefs while Alina's mother shut down Steven's conversion ideas.
The official @90dayfiancé Instagram account shared a clip from Pillow Talk that showed the cast reacting to Steven's interaction with Alina and her mother. Both the cast and commenters sided with Alina and her mother and loved how the women called Steven out. "Her mom 💯 sees through this guys manipulation and 💩," one commenter wrote. "Common [sic] seriously? He was expecting that they will change faith for him? Man…." another incredulous fan wrote. "I have a feeling this mama don’t play! Like me 😂," another user wrote. Viewers were overall shocked by Steven's audacity and were thrilled to see that Alina did not fall for his manipulation with her mother around.
The Pillow Talk couples were also incredulous over the way Steven behaved. "Call him out girl he deserves that and more," Kalani Faagata said to the women. “Why are you talking about raising kids when you can’t even keep your penis to yourself?” she added. Even notorious strip club attendee Jovi Dufren was completely against Steven. "He’s being a huge hypocrite,” Jovi told his wife Yara Zaya. “Get the f*** out of here,” he said about Steven not wanting Alina to drink coffee even though he repeatedly broke his chastity vows. Tim Malcolm was another cast member who loved the women's reactions to Steven. “She flipped her hair like a boss,” Tim said about Alina.
Though The Other Way viewers are calling for Alina to wise up and leave Steven due to the way he treats her, fans, unfortunately, think the couple is still together. Steven and Alina were spotted together in Greece, which means they likely went through with their marriage plans. Though Steven and Alina have proven to be a very frustrating new couple, viewers are excited to meet the new cast of 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days season 5 in December. The upcoming spin-off show is already winning back fans who abandoned the franchise after the lackluster current season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way.
