Alina Kozhevnikova from the 90 Day Fiancé franchise recently reflected on her racist remarks after TLC fired her from the show almost twelve months ago. The 28-year-old reality star debuted on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 5, where she pursued her old social media friend, Caleb Greenwood. However, viewers didn't see the end of her journey after TLC kicked her out of the show for being a racist.

Alina's racism controversy began when screenshots of her old posts and comments surfaced online, in which she used the n-word. While some viewers defended her by saying she wasn't American and didn't know better, others discovered more posts where the Russian native made fun of other cultures. In one post, the former 90 Day Fiancé cast member even mocked Muslims by wearing an ethnic dress. Later, social media users spotted another of Alina's comments, where she was insensitive towards Asian people. The racism controversy pushed TLC to pull the plug on Alina's storyline and get rid of her despite her public apology in a YouTube video.

Alina Kozhevnikova's Feelings About People Who Canceled Her

It has been months since anybody has talked about Alina's racism controversy on social media. However, Alina has once again brought her past to people's attention by posting a picture of herself with a caption beginning, "Exactly 1 year ago I was tried to be canceled [sic]." In the post, the 90 Day Fiancé franchise alum talks about how she remembers the date and adds how it wasn't easy to live through the experience. Later, she claims that people can be "hypocritical & narrow minded."

According to Alina, she has since forgiven herself for what happened. Alina continues her caption by claiming that she's now more aware of "issues, unfairness, prejudices," which makes her want to live in another world. She concludes the Instagram caption by stating that the whole experience has been "extremely enriching."

The Russian 90 Day Fiancé star's followers were somewhat confused by the post, as many didn't know about her past racism. An Instagram user wrote, "So 'woke.' keep your head high... You're kinda amazing." Another user sarcastically commented, "So glad you were able forgive [sic] yourself. Must have been such a tough task." Someone else wrote, "actions have consequences," while stating that Alina was "ignorant" for thinking that people tried to cancel her when she was clearly in the wrong.

It is good to know that Alina has forgiven herself for what she did in her past. However, 90 Day Fiancé viewers do not consider it to be the heroic act she framed it as. Throughout her post, Alina makes it seem like she was a target of cancel culture, which is a bad take considering that she was responsible for her racist remarks. As a result, her attempt to motivate people by talking about how she has grown since the racism scandal doesn't work. Perhaps it would've been better if the 90 Day Fiancé franchise star had left her past in the past and moved on.
