Over its eight seasons, 90 Day Fiancé has introduced audiences to both colorful characters and beloved couples. However, the season that has boasted the most successful relationships appears to be the first one. Alan and Kirlyam Cox are one of the many season one couples who created happy and successful lives, as well as ventured into parenthood.

Though fans ended up rooting hard for the couple, Alan and Kirlyam had an unusual backstory. The couple first met when Alan went to Kirlyam's native Brazil for his Mormon mission. The teenager met Kirlyam when she was just 11-years-old. However, they didn’t develop romantic feelings until they met at the wedding of a mutual friend a decade later. When the show premiered, 21-year-old Kirlyam joined 29-year-old Alan in the United States after obtaining her K-1 fiancé visa. The two were both virgins when they married in a Mormon temple. Though their background differences have created issues, the couple has been able to overcome their problems to form a happy family of three.

The couple is now happily married and parents to Liam, their first child. They welcomed the beautiful baby boy into the world on October 6, 2017. The family has enjoyed many activities together in the United States, such as going to the beach. Kirlyam and Russ celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary in September. Kirlyam wrote, "Thank you for this beautiful journey. You and Liam are the best thing that ever happened to me. I love you beyond eternity!" They also happily celebrated Liam's third birthday in October. Kirlyam wrote to her son, "Son, I love you! May Heavenly Father protect and guide you through this journey, with health and love. That's all I wish the most for your life. I'll always be with you." You can view the happy family below:

Like many of her fellow 90 Day Fiancé castmates, Kirlyam also enjoys success on social media. Kirlyam quickly became a fan favorite, as audiences loved her laid-back attitude. However, the couple had to overcome their differences. When Kirlyam initially wanted to get into modeling, Alan was very much against it. He said the career path was against his Mormon values. Fortunately, that has not prevented Kirlyam from obtaining success online while she waits for her green card in order to obtain employment in the United States. On her Instagram page, she shares a look inside her life with her 225K followers. The Brazilian beauty also has a successful Youtube channel where she provides honest reviews. Meanwhile, Alan works as a project lead and photo simulation specialist for Breen Engineering.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic affected the couple's ability to be physically together for a period. In April 2020, the couple announced that they had to spend some time apart while Kirlyam was stuck in Brazil. She was visiting her family with Liam when the national borders were closed. Their time apart was captured on 90 Day Fiancé: Self-Quarantined, as reported by TV Insider. While Alan’s work took him to San Diego, the mother and son were together in Brazil. The now 27-year-old shared her fears over her father, husband, and son contracting the virus. Her father was severely injured in a past motorcycle accident and now suffers from serious brain injuries. Though the uncertainty of the situation was difficult for the couple, they appear to have made it through the challenging time apart.

Fortunately, the family appears to now be happily reunited. Fans can follow Kirlyam on her social media platforms to see how their story progresses. To see how the journeys of the newer couples unravel, tune in to new episodes of 90 Day Fiancé on TLC.
