The upcoming 90 Day Fiancé season 9 cast has been announced and it's time to talk about which of the future installment's stars are likely to stir up trouble onscreen. With only one familiar couple, fans are excited to see a lot of fresh faces in the franchise. Based on what was shown in the previews for season 9, it’s going to be explosive.

90 Day Fiancé has spawned over a dozen spin-offs, but the OG series is still many viewers’ favorite. While there’s been some talk that the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? spin-off would be the next 90DF franchise show to air, TLC quashed those rumors. The network revealed that 90 Day Fiancé season 9 would be the next major franchise show to hit the airwaves.

Season 9 will feature seven couples, and Ariela Weinberg and Biniyam Shibre are making their core series debut after two 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way seasons. However, the other six couples that were cast will be new. Here are all of the couples ranked by how much conflict they’re likely to bring to the table, from least to most dramatic.

Biniyam Shibre & Ariela Weinberg

Ariela Biniyam In 90 Day Fiance The Other Way 3

Ariela and Biniyam have been through a lot during their two seasons on The Other Way, but they’ve so far managed to stick together. One of the most explosive moments of the season 9 trailer is when Biniyam’s sister Wish splashes a full glass of wine in 90DF's Ariela’s face after the New Jersey native says, “I’m not going to marry you guys I’m marrying Biniyam.” Though the scene is extremely dramatic, it’s probably a misdirect. It’s true that Biniyam’s sisters don’t like Ariela, but they don’t live in the U.S., so their influence on Biniyam after he moves to New Jersey will likely be minimal. The wine toss will probably be the most dramatic thing that happens in their storyline.

Kara & Guillermo

90 Day Fiancé Kara and Guillermo

Guillermo is a Venezuelan living in the Dominican Republic, who met Kara when she was in the country on a work trip. The couple was separated during the COVID-19 pandemic, but now Guillermo is moving to Charlottesville, VA to marry Kara. However, their relationship has friction due to Guillermo's insecurities about Kara's penchant for partying. Based on the trailer, Guillermo seems like a goofy, fun-loving guy, but he is hung up on 90DF's Kara’s history of cheating in relationships. In the preview for season 9, Kara asks. “are we getting married?” just two days before the wedding, and Guillermo says he’s not sure if he can trust her. However, that’s the most drama that's been teased about this couple, and their storyline seems quite mild.

Miona & Jibiri

90 Day Fiancé's Miona and Jibri

Miona met Jibiri when he was performing with his band in Serbia and she’s been picturing a glamorous future with Jibiri in L.A. However, Jibiri had moved to South Dakota to live with his family, which will probably cause trouble for the couple. In the teaser, Miona isn’t happy about living with Jibiri’s family, which will likely create tension. She comments to the camera, “living with his parents is definitely gonna have to change.” Miona said that after asking Jibiri to choose between her and his parents. However, there’s evidence that appears to suggest that 90DF's Jibiri and Miona did get married at the end of the season. So, despite the conflict between Miona and Jibiri’s family, it doesn’t seem like the couple broke up.

Patrick & Thaís

90 Day Fiancé Patrick and Thaís

Patrick and Thaís seem to have a good connection. The couple met on a dating app when Patrick was looking for a language tutor, and they developed their relationship over the course of many trips to Brazil. Patrick describes Thaís as “the hottest girl I’ve ever seen in my life” and they have a better foundation for an emotional bond than many other couples this season. However. the pair will be living with Patrick’s brother when Thaís arrives in the U.S., and it appears that will be a major source of drama in their relationship. Thaís disapproves of her future brother-in-law’s Mike Berk-level gross habits. In addition to that stress, Patrick also suffered “deep emotional wounds” from his previous marriage, which could keep him from getting married at the end of the season.

Kobe & Emily

90 Day Fiancé stars Kobe Blaise and Emily Bieberly from Season 9 Posing

These two met while both were living in China, and Kobe and Emily got engaged after just two weeks. They became unexpectedly pregnant not long after. They’ve been apart for two years and now Kobe is finally coming to the U.S. to be with Emily and meet his son for the first time. The preview teases another unexpected pregnancy for the couple, which could be extremely compelling. An unexpected pregnancy is definitely dramatic, but it could just be a Matt Sharp (90DF producer) fake-out. Kobe and Emily already have a child together, so they’re unlikely to break up during the season, and their potential pregnancy is probably the most interesting part of their storyline.

Mohamed & Yvette

90 Day Fiancé Mohamed and Yvette

Yvette and Mohamed are one of the franchise’s many May-December romances, and the couple has a 23-year age gap. Though Yvette seems extremely physically attracted to Mohamed, she doesn’t like how controlling he can be and how restrictive his culture is. The trailer reveals that Mohamed was a virgin when he met Yvette, and some of their fights were teased as well. Mohamed complains that Yvette was “naked” when she was wearing a bikini, and it seems he’s not comfortable with her clothing or lifestyle choices. Yvette additionally has a 12-year-old boy with special needs. Overall, the deck is stacked against this couple. With everything they have going on, Mohamed and Yvette may be one of the most compelling couples next season.

Shaeeda & Bilal

90 Day Fiancé Season 9 Shaeeda Sween and Bilal Hazziez

There's lots of potential drama between Shaeeda and Bilal, and they could be the most dramatic couple next 90DF season. The two were together just seven days before Bilal proposed, and they don’t have a strong foundation for their relationship. Bilal is a divorced father of two who lives a lavish and successful life, and while Shaeeda wants to start a family, Bilal doesn’t really want any more children. The preview teases a prenup storyline, which often causes a lot of tension between couples. Shaeeda also doesn’t seem to have the support of her family, as her mom tells her to “jump on the next plane and bring your backside home” when Shaeeda expresses reservations about her relationship.

From what TLC teased in the preview for 90 Day Fiancé season 9, it looks like there’s going to be true love, heartbreak, and most importantly, drama. The new couples have the potential to be extremely entertaining. This is why fans are eager for the new season’s debut.
