City slicker Julia Trubkina has been having a hard time dealing with Brandon Gibbs’ family and farm on 90 Day Fiancé. But thankfully, she has Brandon’s family friend Aspen to help her out in her Paris Hilton’s The Simple Life-inspired journey. However, some 90 Day Fiancé fans have discovered that Aspen may be more “family” than “friend” for Brandon and Julia, despite what the show and parents Betty and Ron claim.

After shocking Julia with their no-sex-until-marriage rule in Washington, D.C., 90 Day Fiancé’s Brandon, Betty, and Ron went to their farm in North Dinwiddie. Little did go-go dancer Julia know then that she’d soon have to switch careers and become a farmhand. The Gibbs family then introduced their future daughter-in-law to farm life – the horses, chickens, goats, dogs, hogs, and finally Aspen. As 90 Day Fiancé’s Julia confessed to the camera that this is not the job she wants, Betty explained how Aspen is a “really, really close friend” whom they've known for many years. Brandon’s mom added that when they’re traveling, Aspen stays at the farm and looks after the animals, and will now be showing Julia how to “get things done” by getting her hands dirty. Fans, along with Julia, also met Aspen’s hairless cat.

However, 90 Day Fiancé’s Julia failed to impress Aspen, who complained to the cameras about Brandon’s GF being “a little slacking.” As Julia looked shocked to hear about the farm animals being fed at 7 am, Aspen added how she was “way late” for the first feeding. But Aspen also assisted Julia in feeding the “smelly” goats and later said how she thinks “it’s hilarious” to watch the 90 Day Fiancé star struggle, before claiming, “a farm has no room for princesses.” Due to her comments, Aspen seems to have gained a bad reputation amongst the fans, who, like in this Reddit threat, have said things like, “I hated this lady acting like she was the manager.”

But more shocking is how the same thread reveals Aspen is apparently Brandon’s aunt, i.e. Betty's sister, and has a totally different name, “Angi Shattuck,” in real life. Aspen refers to Brandon as her “nephew” on a Facebook page she created for the couple, where she also writes about “having a blast filming” with Julia. “We love our Russian princess,” writes Aspen/Angi about Julia, giving a totally different meaning to her earlier offensive statement. Apart from helping the family out at the farm, Brandon’s aunt, who has studied animal health and welfare at the University of South California, and animal science/behavior at the University of Virginia, also owns Aspen Chic Cattery, as per LinkedIn.

The 90 Day Fiancé cast member lists Richmond, Virginia as her hometown on Facebook, and interestingly also mentions “Russian” as a language she can speak. More pictures from Aspen on her Facebook fan page show her hanging out at the farm with Julia, but they also show comments from angry fans such as, “How did sweet Julia feel like when you called her a slacker on national television?” Then, there are the confused 90 Day Fiancé fans writing, “Ummm… are you *not* a long time family friend?”

Perhaps, things haven’t really been going as bad for Julia on the farm as the recent episodes of 90 Day Fiancé suggest. The pictures hint at Julia and Aspen having a good time even while shooting the much-talked-about scene, which could mean that the drama might have been a little exaggerated for the show. As all signs and the couple photos on Aspen’s page suggest that Julia and Brandon are still together, perhaps the 90 Day Fiancé star didn’t really book her ticket back to Russia after all.
