The characters in 9-1-1 and its spinoff series, 9-1-1: Lone Star, do everything in their power to ensure that citizens make it home to their loved ones. However, the dangerous nature of the job creates cause for concern that they'll be unable to do the same.

The first responders put their lives in jeopardy every second they're on the clock, and several couples are in the same line of work. With the threat of loss looming in the air, relationships are put to the ultimate test. Although their job provides an additional challenge, the best pairings in 9-1-1 are strong enough to withstand anything that comes their way.

Hen And Karen

Hen leaning on Karen in 9-1-1.

Hen is one of the most likable characters in 9-1-1, and her wife is just as easy to love. Both women have made mistakes in regards to their relationship, and Hen's actions during the first season are hard for Karen to forgive. Yet, everyone deserves a second chance and Hen has earned her wife's trust back.

They've evolved into one of the most stable romances in the series, and have even become foster parents. Hen and Karen are always there to offer each other love and support when they need it most.

Buck And Taylor

Buck and Taylor staring ahead in 9-1-1.

Buck hasn't had much luck in the romance department, and many of his relationships tend to lack chemistry and an emotional investment from viewers. Out of all Buck's love interests, Taylor is easily the best fit. It's easy to write them off as a fling given their past, but Taylor returns in 9-1-1 Season 4 in an entirely different capacity.

Buck and Taylor develop a friendship before anything else, causing their eventual romance to feel earned. Because 9-1-1 takes the time to build a proper foundation, the couple has come to share a deep and meaningful bond.

Michael And David

Michael puts his hand over David's in 9-1-1.

Michael and David aren't a couple who are featured too heavily in the series, but they manage to be a sturdy and loving presence. While David doesn't join the cast of 9-1-1 until later on, it's difficult to imagine Michael being with anyone else.

His marriage to Athena ends when Michael comes out as gay, and he never achieves true happiness until David comes into his life. David isn't a main character and the show does have a large ensemble, but fans still deserve to see more in terms of their relationship development.

T.K. And Carlos

Carlos wraps his arms around TK in 9-1-1: Lone Star.

T.K. and Carlos become the fan-favorite romance the moment they meet in 9-1-1: Lone Star. After being burned by love in the past, T.K. finds it difficult to truly open up his heart to anyone again. Their relationship starts off as purely physical, with Carlos clearly wanting more.

However, T.K. falls for Carlos against his will, and it's unlikely that anyone else would've had the same emotional effect on him. Their love for each other is pure and selfless, and the two have become the epitome of relationship goals.

Bobby And Athena

There are an endless amount of things to learn and love about Athena in 9-1-1, and Bobby is interested in every single one of them. Bobby and Athena are the most surprising relationship out of both series, due to their unlikely success. After everything they've been through in the first season, neither character is in a place where they're quite ready to have a serious romance.

Yet, the show throws the audience for a loop by setting them up on a date. Bobby and Athena fall in love almost immediately, and they make each other better in every way. Athena gives Bobby back the future he thought he'd lost, and he does the same for her in return.

Abby and Buck

Abby and Buck weren't the most popular romance even before their split. Things aren't left on the best of terms between them, but actor availability is to be blamed for the couple's ending. Regardless of whether Abby and Buck are soulmates, she plays a crucial role in his development during 9-1-1 Season 1.

Buck almost gets fired from the station when his self-diagnosed sex addiction interferes with his job. He steals the truck to hook up with women from dating apps and doesn't make the best decisions on the clock. It isn't until Buck falls in love with Abby that a real change sparks within him. No matter what fans think of their relationship, it was necessary to turn Buck into the man they've come to know and love.

Maddie And Chimney

No one is more deserving of true love than Maddie and Chimeny, and their new relationship is a highlight of 9-1-1 Season 3. Before Maddie joins the show, Chimney struggles to find someone who returns his feelings in equal measure.

He longs for someone to give his heart to, but no one ever matches Chimney's level of devotion. Maddie changes everything, and despite her traumatic past, she trusts Chimney with her life. They have to fight for their love every day, but the best things are worth fighting for.

Judd And Grace

Judd and Grace dancing in 9-1-1: Lone Star.

It may be a bold assumption, but most television watchers would likely agree that Judd and Grace are one of the best fictional couples of all time. Their relationship is unlike anything viewers have seen before, and there's not a single thing to dislike about them.

Judd and Grace have a love story for the ages, and they are just as devoted after years of marriage as they are the day they see each other. The two meet through a prayer service hotline, and Grace admits she fell in love with Judd before she even met him. Grace and Judd are the heart and soul of 9-1-1: Lone Star and their relationship alone makes the show worth watching.

Buck And Eddie

They may not be an official couple, but they deserve to be acknowledged for their potential. Buck and Eddie are a relationship the show didn't expect viewers to ship, and have become the fan-favorite pairing.

There's a certain type of vulnerability Buck only displays with his best friend, which gives them the emotional component that Buck's romances tend to lack. He becomes a second father to Christopher, and the possibility of Buck and Eddie as a couple is continuously teased throughout the show.

Tommy And Charles

Tommy and Charles looking at each other in 9-1-1: Lone Star.

Charles's sudden death at the end of 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 2 is easily the most heartbreaking moment in the series. The characters may not have been introduced until later on, but they quickly steal fans' hearts with their love for each other and their family.

Charles is Tommy's rock, and he acts as a stay-at-home dad while she works as the paramedic captain for Station 126. He never makes her feel guilty for missing out on family events and admires her devotion to her job and their daughters. It's hard to imagine Tommy ever finding someone who can measure up to her husband.
