7th Heaven was a show that ran from 1996 to 2007. The show centred around the Camden family, a Christian family of 9 living in Glenoak, California, and focused on the life lessons and family drama that come with having a Protestant reverend for a father and husband.

Although perhaps not the most likely storyline for a smash series, 7th Heaven somehow managed to captivate viewers across North America with its loveable characters and feel good morals. It also helped that some of the characters were serious smoke shows Jessica Biel played the bad girl Mary Camden, while Barry Watson charmed the hearts of teenagers with his portrayal of Matt Camden.

Although the show ended over 10 years ago now, we remain up to date on most of the show's main runners. While some, such as Jessica Biel, have had successful careers post-7th Heaven, others, such as Andrew Keegan, have gone on to create entirely new religions (or cults, some might argue). On a more somber note, Stephen Collins, who played Reverend Eric Camden, was at the forefront of a disturbing scandal back in 2014. Want the details?

Barry Watson (Matt Camden)

Matt Camden was the good-natured eldest Camden kid, counselling his fellow classmates and siblings, always ready to lend a helping hand. His good-natured personality and fetching looks meant that in the early 2000s, the actor who played Matt Camden, Barry Watson, was on the cover of all the teen magazines, and was undeniably an early 2000s heart throb.

Nowadays, you can find Watson making appearances in a variety of smaller television shows and made for TV movies. He faced personal struggles during the filming of later seasons of 7th Heaven, being diagnosed Hodgkin's Lymphoma, having a child with long-term partner and reality television personality Tracy Hutson, and later separating from her.

However, he has since settled down again. This time with the daughter of actress Natalie Wood, Natasha Gregson Wagner. The two had a baby together in 2012, and were married sometime after that.

Beverley Mitchell (Lucy Camden)

Beverley Mitchell rose to prominence for her role as Lucy Camden in 7th Heaven. She also had a recurring role in The Secret Life of An American Teenager from 2011-2013.

Lucy was one of the more popular characters in 7th Heaven, although Mitchell never met career success at the same level as her friend and co-star Jessica Biel.

Since the end of 7th Heaven, Mitchell has kept a pretty low profile, although she remains friends with many of her co-stars - especially Mackenzie Rosman (Rosie Camden) and Jessica Biel (Mary Camden). In fact, in 2008, Mitchell married her long-term boyfriend Michael Cameron, and Rosman and Biel served as bridesmaids at the wedding!

As of 2017, Mitchell also stars in a partially exaggerated television reality series called Hollywood Darlings, alongside other child stars Jodie Sweetin (from Full House) and Christine Lakin (from Step by Step).

Mackenzie Rosman (Ruthie Camden)

Mackenzie Rosman Then and Now

Ruthie Camden was every teenage girl;s idol. The character was smart, sassy, and beautiful, which is actually not so far off from the actor who portrayed Ruthie, Mackenzie Rosman.

Throughout her time playing Ruthie Camden in 7th Heaven and after, Rosman has focused mostly on her philanthropical work. Her stepsister, Katelyn Salmont, lived with and fought Cystic Fibrosis until she died in 2008. Throughout this time and since, Rosman has been at the forefront of Cystic Fibrosis awareness campaigns, as well as an ambassador for Childhelp Inc., which helps abused children.

In terms of acting, Rosman has appeared in a smattering of television shows and movies, although she has not appeared in anything really big since the end of 7th Heaven. It sounds like Rosman has found more purpose in philanthropy.

David Gallagher (Simon Camden)

David Gallagher played one of the middle children of the 7th Heaven clan. He was always very sweet, slightly mischievous, and went through a bit of a bad phase when he first went to college. All of this meant that Gallagher was yet another early 2000s heart throb that came to prominence through the hit television series.

Of the entire 7th Heaven cast, along with Beverley Mitchell and Jessica Biel, Gallagher has had one of the more active acting careers since the show ended. He has made several one- or two-time appearances in shows like CSI: NY, CSI: Miami, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The Vampire Diaries, Smallville, and Bones.

Although not as prominent in Hollywood as he was back in his 7th Heaven days, it sounds like Gallagher has not completely let go of acting.

Catherine Hicks (Annie Camden)

Annie Camden was the mom that everyone who watched 7th Heaven wished they had. Often talking to her 7 children calmly over tea and cookies, Annie would try and instill morals in a gentle sort of way, and this often worked.

In real life, Catherine Hicks has had a very successful acting career, appearing in various movies and television shows, including the critically-acclaimed film My Name Is Jerry in 2009, which won her an award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the International Filmmakers Festival. Hicks has also since returned to live theater, receiving positive reviews for her role of Hildegarde in the play Why Torture is Wrong and the People Who Love Them back in 2010.

In her spare time, Hicks is a part of a variety of volunteering campaigns, including for Democrat congressman Adam Schiff.

Jessica Biel (Mary Camden)

The beautiful Jessica Biel has perhaps had the most prolific career since the end of 7th Heaven. After starring as the bad sister Mary Camden until the second to last season of the show, Biel moved on to much bigger and better things.

Throughout her time as Mary Camden and after, she starred in films like The Rules of Attraction, Blade: Trinity, Stealth, The Illusionist, The A-Team, and Total Recall. In 2017, she was nominated for Golden Globe for her performance as Cora Tannetti in the television miniseries The Sinner.

Biel has also received widespread fame since she began dating singer and actor Justin Timberlake in 2007. The two married in 2012, and had a baby together by the name of Silas Randall Timberlake in 2015. She also owns the children's restaurant Au Fudge.

Tyler Hoechlin (Martin Brewer)

Martin Brewer, played by Tyler Hoechlin, broke the hearts of Ruthie fans everywhere when he married her (Mackenzie Rosman) in the 12th season of 7th Heaven.

He first appeared in the show in season 8, and soon charmed the hearts of viewers everywhere with his conventional good looks and staunchly conservative views, which are thrown in his face when his previous girlfriend becomes pregnant, despite his preaching against sex before marriage.

In real life, Tyler Hoechlin has been met with huge success since the end of 7th Heaven for his portrayal as Superman in the hit CW series Supergirl!  It has also been announced that he will be starring in the new teen drama film Departures, alongside Nina Dobrev, Asa Butterfield, and Maisie Williams.

Andrew Keegan (Wilson West)

Andrew Keegan was a late 1990s - early 2000s heart throb, charming the hearts of teenagers worldwide with his portrayal of Wilson West, Mary Camden's love interest in early seasons. It is revealed an episode later that Wilson has a son from a previous relationship. This, of course, is scandalous, considering it is 7th Heaven!

Since his stardom in 7th Heaven and other hit films from the late '90s and early 2000s like 10 Things I Hate About You and The Broken Hearts Club, Keegan has laid pretty low in Hollywood.

He was faced with somewhat of a scandal back in 2015 when the spiritual group he formed called "Full Circle" was raided by officers from the Californian Alcohol Beverage Control board - for serving Kombucha. The spiritual center closed its doors in 2017.

Ashlee Simpson (Cecilia Smith)

Although we know and love Ashlee Simpson for being sisters with Jessica Simpson, and for her rather questionable singing career, we sometimes forget that the younger Simpson sister actually made her Hollywood debut as the long-time girlfriend of Simon (David Gallagher).

Although Cecilia and Simon eventually break up, Cecilia remains a sort-of part of the Camden family until she goes away for college.

Since starring in 7th Heaven, Simpson has married and divorced Fall Out Boy singer Pete Wentz, and is now happily married to the son of singer Diana Ross, Evan Ross. Simpson has two children; one with Wentz and one with her current husband.

When asked in an interview if Simpson would return to acting, she said she was instead focusing on her singing career.

Rachel Blanchard (Roxanne Richardson)

Rachel Blanchard Then and Now 2017

Rachel Blanchard portrayed Roxanne Richardson, who initially was the subject of much of Lucy Camden's (Beverley Mitchell) jealousy. Roxanne was a typical babe, and had many of the male characters in the show crushing on her, including both Robbie and Kevin!

After Lucy's initial jealousy wears off, the two become close friends. In real life, Blanchard has kept a pretty low profile (although she remains a babe).

She has appeared in several comedy sketches, however, including the award winning British comedy television series Peep Show and the HBO series Flight of the Conchords. In 2014, she also had a recurring role in the first season of the hit television show Fargo.

Despite keeping a low profile, Blanchard has managed to maintain a name for herself by appearing in high quality television since the end of 7th Heaven.

Haylie Duff (Sandy Jameson)

Haylie Duff

Haylie Duff, sister of Hollywood early 2000s sweetheart Hilary Duff, portrayed the character of Sandy Jameson in 7th Heaven from 2005 to 2007. In this role, the older Duff sister was the best friend of Rose, Simon's fiancéd in season 10. Sandy reveals later on in the show that she is pregnant, possibly with Martin Brewer's baby!

Since her dramatic appearance in 7th Heaven, Duff has starred in a variety of small roles, including in Napoleon Dynamite, and the two made for TV movies Love Takes Wing and the sequel Love Finds a Home.

Apart from this, Duff has also started a children's fashion line, a cook book, and pursued a somewhat successful singing career. In 2008, Duff hosted the reality television series Legally Blonde the Musical: The Search for Elle Woods. While this might seem obscure, it makes sense, since Duff has starred on Broadway in the past.

Happy (Happy The Dog)

Happy the dog in the 7th Heaven opening credits

Happy the dog appears in the first episode of 7th Heaven, after Simon Camden begs his parents for his dog, and fate unites the family with Happy when he appears on their lawn. Although at the end of season 2, we risk losing Happy when we find out he had previous owners, the Camdens eventually reunite with Happy when he chooses them over his old family.

Viewers then fell in love with the adorable Happy (who was played by a dog named Happy). The actor dog named Happy was actually a she, and had been a rescue from a California dog shelter. Heart-breakingly, the dog died back in 2010 of natural causes (she was 15 years old).

We can only assume she lived a happy, star-studded life as one of the most important characters in 7th Heaven, warming our hearts each time she barked, and constantly sporting a "happy" smile.

Lorenzo Brino (Sam Camden)

Lorenzo Brino portrayed Sam Camden, one of two identical twins who first appeared in season 3 of 7th Heaven. In real life, Lorenzo is one of four non-identical quadruplets and was just one of four actors who played the two twins, Sam, and David Camden. Later on, these four were whittled down to just two brothers (Lorenzo and Nikolas Brino) to play each of the twins.

In real life, Lorenzo Brino has kept a seriously low profile. In fact, on Google, there's not a whole lot to see except for information pertaining to his starring in 7th Heaven.

Lorenzo Brino does have a Twitter account! However, there are only 2 tweets from 2013 on the account. He does have a recent photo as his profile photo, and we can confirm that he has aged into a dapper young man!

Nikolas Brino (David Camden)

Nikolas Brino portrayed David Camden in 7th Heaven. Similar to his brother Lorenzo, he has kept a remarkably low profile. His Twitter account does seem to have a bit more action on it, although it has not been updated since 2014.

In his Twitter bio, Nikolas Brino does state that he is an actor based out of Los Angeles, although we have yet to hear more from him.

Similar to his brother Lorenzo, Nikolas's Twitter also sports a recent photograph of him, and we can again confirm that he has aged well. Now 19, we look forward to seeing if Nikolas will actually pursue acting as per his Twitter page, or if he will take another route in his career instead.

Whatever his decision, for now we will always remember him as the adorable David Camden in 7th Heaven.

Stephen Collins (Eric Camden)

stephen collins

Other stars from 7th Heaven have not been as wholesome in their personal lives, however.

Stephen Collins, who portrayed the upright Reverend Eric Camden, was at the forefront of Hollywood scandal back in 2014, when an audio tape was leaked to the media. This audio tape had the voice of Collins confessing to his now ex-wife that he had had relations with a minor in the past.

Later that year, Collins admitted to People magazine that he had in fact had relations with minors on three separate occasions: in 1973, 1982, and 1994. He has not appeared in any movies or television shows since 2013.

Strangely, in 2017, 7th Heaven Brenda Hampton said in an interview that she would welcome Collins back to the show for a reunion.
