The zombie hordes have been making a comeback with the resurgence in popularity for 7 Days to Die. While gathering resources to increase their changes of survival, players will come to find they are quickly depleting their stamina when gathering the various ores while the rate at which they are accumulating minerals is excruciatingly slow. Even after having acquired different foods and drinks to minimalize stamina depletion, the mining process can be lengthy, especially with all the work that needs to be done before a blood moon.

However, there are ways to mitigate that sluggish ore gathering through the obtaining of certain perks in 7 Days to Die. From reducing the stamina cost of swinging a pickaxe to increasing the amount of ore gathered with each swing, survivors will find it beneficial to sink some points into these skills. Doing so will allow gamers to spend less time gathering minerals and more time putting them to use to improve their tools, weapons, vehicles, and base defenses.

The Best Perks for Mining in 7 Days to Die

7 Days to Die - Mining Perks

Every perk players should acquire in 7 Days to Die to optimize their mining career is fueled by the Strength attribute. To get the most out of the three primary perks, gamers will have to put enough points into strength to get it to level seven, which will require nine points total. Alongside unlocking all the tiers available with the subsequent mining perks, getting strength to level seven increases the headshot damage and dismemberment chances when using shotguns, clubs, sledgehammers, and mining tools such as a pickaxe.

The first primary perk players should consider for mining is Sexual Tyrannosaurus. This perk reduces the stamina cost of using melee weapons and tools (pickaxe, fireaxe, shovel, etc.) and power attacks by 25% and 50% respectively when unlocking all four tiers by slotting in four points. Moreover, players will reacquire 30 stamina when killing a living creature with a melee weapon or tool in the final tier of Sexual Tyrannosaurus. This perk will allow players to swing their mining tools more times before running out of stamina, reducing the amount of time it takes to destroy a mineral vein and obtain ore faster.

Next, players should focus on the Construction Perks under the Strength tree: Miner 69’er and Mother Lode. Miner 69’er increases the speed with which players can destroy ore deposits and trees, hastening ore and wood gathering so fans can move to the next one. Working in conjunction with Miner 69’er, Mother Lode increases the amount of ore, stone, wood, and soil players collect with each swing of their tools. Together, these two perks allow survivors to spend more time actively gathering resources before depleting their stamina and increases the number of resources they collect at once.

Being able to spend more time swinging mining tools and collect more ore with each swing reduces the length of time players need to spend farming. Optimizing resource gathering through perks, especially when combined with the stamina bonuses provided by certain foods and drinks, allows fans to put their resources to use at a much faster rate. The result is more resources, and more items and defenses players can craft to fend off the zombie hordes, especially during the more difficult blood moon hordes.
