Adam Driver sets out to fight dinosaurs and stay alive after crash landing on an alien planet in the newest trailer for 65. Written and directed by the writers of A Quiet Place, Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, 65 stars Adam Driver as an astronaut named Mills, who crash lands on a mysterious planet and discovers he isn't the only one there. Arianna Greenblatt also stars as a young person taken in by Driver's character during a chaotic battle for survival against the dinosaurs found on the alien planet. The Beck Woods production company, Bron Creative, and Columbia Pictures produced the film.

In a new action-packed trailer for the sci-fi adventure 65 shared by Sony Pictures, Driver comes face-to-face with some vicious dinosaurs.

The previous trailer for 65 showed the former Star Wars antagonist arriving on the strange planet, which the new trailer expands on with a sequence of Driver's astronaut soaring through the atmosphere. The new official trailer for the project also shows off more of the planet that Driver and Greenblatt get stranded on in the film, including some gorgeous shots of natural weather events and tornadoes scattered throughout a sandy desert landscape.

How Adam Driver’s Past Roles Make Him Perfect For 65

Adam Driver in 65

Every new big-budget dinosaur movie is expected to come with hype. The recent Jurassic World trilogy was largely very successful, but now the mantle is getting passed on to Driver's 65. 65 is one of three confirmed upcoming projects for Driver, who will also appear as Enzo Ferrari in Ferrari and a yet-unknown character in Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis. 65 appears to bring a more drama-thriller slant to the Jurassic World formula, and in that being the case, the casting decision with Driver makes a lot of sense, especially compared to Chris Pratt's role in the other franchise.

The limited looks at 65 that have been revealed suggest that the film will follow in the tone of A Quiet Place, with Driver and Greenblatt mostly on their own, braving the foreign elements of the planet. Driver's past work has seen him show off a great deal of acting range. His big breakout role as Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy tasked the actor with a lot of soul-searching scenes. Oftentimes, those scenes saw Driver acting on his own and conveying the emotion that Kylo Ren had suppressed. The sci-fi elements of the movies harken back to some Star Wars imagery, particularly with the crash-landing and the red objects flying in the background of a shot resembling a big moment in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

In recent years, Driver has done more self-contained stories as opposed to franchises, acting as a standout character in Marriage Story, The Report, and The Last Duel. The actor's past work on projects that involved him performing in intimate settings, in addition to his action-heavy performances on Star Wars and other projects, make it fairly clear why he was picked as the lead for 65. The tone and scale of the film have been shown off, and Driver fits right into the character archetype of a troubled astronaut fighting for his life and taking on a young sidekick. 65 is slated to hit theaters on March 17.
