"24" Season 5: It's Not Too Late To Get Onboard

As usual, 24 grabbed me and threw me up against the wall within the first 10 minutes of the first episode. No one is assured of being a continuing regular on this show with the exception of Jack Bauer (Keifer Sutherland), and that's one of the great things about it. Unlike most dramas, there's an actual sense of danger that we feel towards the characters because they might actually be killed.

As I wrote previously, Manny Coto is now involved with 24, something I had forgotten until I saw his name pop up in the credits. He is both executive producing and writing for the show and he is doing an awesome job so far. For those of you who don't know who he is, he's the guy that was brought in to helm (pardon the pun) Star Trek: Enterprise, at the eleventh hour after Berman and Braga did an excellent job of running it into the ground.

In a case of universal karma, Threshold which was Brannon Braga's baby after he left the world of Star Trek has been cancelled and 24 is going to totally rock. If Paramount was too stupid to see what a gem they had in Coto and how he could have brought Star Trek back from the abyss, that's their loss (and unfortunately, ours if you're a long time Trek fan).

Check out 24 this season, you won't be disappointed.
