Here's where comedy sequel 22 Jump Street was shot. Following his debut in A Nightmare On Elm Street, Johnny Depp rose to stardom during his stint on the 21 Jump Street TV show. This 1980s cop series followed a group of youthful-looking police officers who went undercover in colleges and high schools to suss out illegal activity. The show is very much of its era so few could see the logic of a movie remake starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum when it was first announced. The latter actor was still best known for more stoic roles like G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra at the time, but 21 Jump Street not only proved he was a gifted comic performer, but the movie itself was one of the funniest comedies of 2012.

21 Jump Street was co-directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who both have a talent for taking seemingly bad ideas like The LEGO Movie and making something great from them. The directors and cast soon reunited for 22 Jump Street, which is arguably even funnier than the original and grossed over $330 million worldwide. For a time, there was talk of the third movie being a crossover with the Men In Black franchise called MIB 23, with James Bobin set to direct. This concept was ultimately abandoned, which resulted in lukewarm sequel Men In Black: International instead.

22 Jump Street was primarily shot in New Orleans, Louisiana, which includes a return to the Historic St James A.M.E Church where 21 Jump St is located, though the cops have moved across to 22 Jump St, which was shot at New Orleans' St Maurice Catholic Church. Other key Louisiana locations including Tulane University, Loyola University, with Tad Gormley Stadium and LSU Tiger Stadium being used for the movie's football sequences.

22 Jump Street also filmed in San Juan, Puerto Rico for the finale set during spring break, including locations like Señor Frog's and the Hilton Caribe hotel. While MIB 23 is unlikely to be revived, it appears the next entry in the franchise will be a female-focused spinoff called 24 Jump Street, which is set to star Tiffany Haddish and Zendaya (Spider-Man: Homecoming). Rodney Rothman is attached to direct while Lord and Miller will produce, while the title 23 Jump Street is still being saved for a possible future sequel with Schmidt and Jenko.

22 Jump Street ended with an amazing credit sequence that promised an endless line of sequels, video games and even a cartoon show. If 23 Jump Street ever does happen, it'll be interesting to see if Schmidt and Jenko actually do end up in medical school as the credits predicted.
