22 Jump Street gave popular YouTube star Jimmy Tatro his first big role in a movie. While he made his debut in Wes Craven's A Nightmare On Elm Street, it was Johnny Depp's role on 21 Jump Street that made him a star. This 1980s series focused on the work of a unit of youthful-looking cops who go undercover in schools and colleges to suss out illegal activity. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum seemed like an odd pairing for the eventual 2012 movie reboot, which was a tongue in cheek take on the concept.
Against all odds, it worked a treat, with 21 Jump Street being a fresh and hilarious ride, bolstered by great chemistry between the leads and co-star Ice Cube. Tatro created his YouTube channel LifeAccordingToJimmy in 2011 alongside collaborator Christian Pierce, with their comedy skits proving insanely popular. The channel's enduring success has seen Jimmy Tatro's net worth estimated to be around $3 million.
Beyond 22 Jump Street, Jimmy Tatro has appeared in other movies and TV shows like American Vandal and The Wolf Of Snow Hollow, which sadly marked the final role of the great Robert Forster. Tatro and Christian Pierce are also behind cult comedy series The Real Bros Of Simi Valley, a reality TV show spoof that has run for three seasons thus far.
