Tammy Slaton has had a difficult journey as a reality television star in 1000-lb Sisters, and plenty of the entertainer's fans don't think that Tammy should have a platform at all. Throughout her three years in the spotlight, Tammy has only fallen further from her weight loss goals, and fans no longer think the Slaton sisters' series is benefiting Tammy. From encouraging her reckless behavior to TLC exploiting her dire condition, here's why 1000-lb Sisters fans don't think Tammy should be on television.

Before Tammy starred on 1000-lb Sisters, she garnered popularity appearing on her sister, Amy's, prominent YouTube channel. On the video-sharing site, Amy and Tammy accumulated millions of views for content that gave subscribers a glimpse of what it was like to live as a Slaton sister. While on YouTube, Amy and Tammy got a small taste of fame, but once the pair of siblings got their own reality series on TLC, their lives changed. Tammy and Amy used 1000-lb Sisters as an incentive to finally put their weight loss ambitions into motion. When audiences were first introduced to them, both of the Slaton sisters were in urgent need of bariatric surgery. Regrettably, only Amy has taken advantage of the opportunities that came with starring in 1000-lb Sisters.

Although both Amy and Tammy intended to lose enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery in 1000-lb Sisters season 1, Tammy has trailed her sister in terms of actualizing her dreams. While Amy has stuck to her diet, undergone a gastric bypass operation, and achieved her life-long aspiration of becoming a mother throughout her few years as a reality TV star, Tammy has only fallen further from her fitness goals. After failing to lose enough weight in season 1, Tammy gained weight in season 2 thanks to her enabling ex-boyfriend, Jerry Sykes, and COVID contraction. Sadly, Tammy's strayed from her health hopes in season 3 as she checked out of rehab early and went on to gain 15 pounds. Fans think Tammy's career on TV is no longer inspiring the star. A Reddit user wrote, "This needs to end. Tammy does not need a platform anymore."

At its root, 1000-lb Sisters is meant to tell the story of Amy and Tammy's joint venture to get their lives back on track. Sadly, fans don't think Tammy has attempted to salvage her health in the reality series for a couple of years. Since season 1, Tammy has grown more comfortable in her weight loss failure. A fan explained that instead of Tammy using her time on the show to improve her fitness like Amy, "We have almost two full seasons of Tammy making excuses and not even trying." The Slaton sisters' supporters also think the network, TLC, is taking advantage of Tammy's seemingly hopeless condition. Instead of encouraging others to work on their health like Amy and Tammy might intend to, another commenter asserted that viewers are only watching Tammy get worse and "TLC is not helping her mental health at all."

Tammy has proven to be an entertaining force in 1000-lb Sisters, but fans agree that the TV personality isn't doing herself or viewers any favors by staying on the series. From being exploited by TLC to abandoning the goals that got her on the show in the first place, Tammy's followers think the star should retire from her high-profile platform. Fans think that as long as Tammy stars in 1000-lb Sisters, she's a lost cause.
