Followers of 1000-lb Sisters have noticed that Tammy Slaton often puts on a pretend baby voice to try and work the cameras. There is no doubt that Tammy lacks a sense of maturity, but fans wonder if she is trying to be manipulative. With a new season hanging in the balance, viewers would like to hear Tammy in her real voice from now on.

As viewers are well aware, Tammy started her weight loss journey with her sister, Amy Slaton Halterman, but she quickly fell behind. The TLC star has been falling short of her goals since season 1, even though she has been given many opportunities. Instead, Tammy often reverts to acting like a child by throwing temper tantrums and giving ultimatums. The Slaton family rarely holds Tammy accountable and often lets her get away with almost anything, including putting on a fake baby voice.

1000-lb Sisters fans took to Reddit to ask a very important question about Tammy's voice, with most wondering if anyone else had noticed the tone and pitch changes. The viewers have clearly seen that Tammy has the uncanny ability to change her voice when the cameras start rolling. The Kentucky native does not exhibit this behavior when speaking or yelling at her sister, instead, she has an accent. According to the Washington Times, there is a syndrome dubbed Little Girl Voice, which is an informal name for a vocal trait usually found in women, caused by "psychological trauma before the onset of puberty."

Women like Tammy, who exhibit this trait, often speak in a higher tone with a child-like pitch. Sadly, the voice is usually at the same age that the victim suffered from the traumatic event. For Tammy, the voice changing issue could be a defense mechanism to protect herself. It could also be argued that Tammy feels comfortable when speaking with Amy, hence no voice change, but with doctors, she may not feel safe. Tammy very well could be dealing with an unconscious change that acts as a pre-emptive defense tactic.

For now, Tammy is still living in the rehab facility that she was checked into back in October after her near-death experience. The Slaton family was told she probably wouldn't make it, but miraculously she pulled through. While the drama surrounding the show is great to watch, 1000-lb Sisters fans would like to see Tammy help herself and address the many psychological issues she may be suffering from.
