Tammy Slaton from 1000-Lb. Sisters is known for her heavy use of filters on social media, but she recently shared her natural face at the request of fans. When the TLC show premiered on January 1, 2020, Tammy and her younger sister Amy Slaton-Halterman were catapulted into the spotlight as viewers tuned in each week to watch their respective weight loss journeys. Their crude humor, tell-it-like-it-is personalities, and love of "sodies" garnered a diehard following. In Tammy's case, her supporters regularly urge her to embrace her true self and not hide behind blurred skin and fake makeup.

Over the past year, Tammy's Instagram has undergone quite a few overhauls. A little over a month ago, she deleted all of her old posts and shared a photo of her smiling in dark lipstick. The caption read, "Bright as the sun, dark as night. People fail to see the true me. I am MS. SLATON!" Next came a slew of extremely close-up, highly-filtered selfies. Each looks identical to the last, aside from a few that feature oxygen tubes. Fans fear for Tammy's health, especially after she posted and deleted a photo of herself smoking following a COVID-19 diagnosis. Though Amy qualified for weight loss surgery, 1000-Lb. Sisters season 2 saw Tammy continuing to struggle to achieve the same goal, weighing in at over 660 pounds.

After seeing this steady stream of selfies with intense filters, which gave her face a blurred, baby doll-esque appearance, Tammy's fanbase urged her to share something unfiltered. Tammy heeded their requests and recently posted a filter- and makeup-free selfie (seen below) with the hashtag "#nofilter." She also shared a video on her Instagram Story and said, "So like, y'all keep telling me to post pictures and videos no filter." Tammy provided a view of both angles of her face and smiled at the end.

For the most part, Tammy's followers had positive things to say in the comments. Compliments such as "stunning," "gorgeous" and "beautiful" can be found, as well as observations that it appears she lost some weight. She also received praise for her hair. One concerned fan called Tammy "beautiful inside and out," but pleaded with her to take her health more seriously. "You should be well off oxygen by now!! Don't you wanna live to see Gage grow into a handsome young man??!! Or even as simple as living to see the next day!!"

Gage is Amy's son, who she welcomed into the world nine months ago with husband Mike Halterman. Amy hoped that losing over 100 pounds and starting a family would inspire Tammy to get her health on track. But at the end of season 2, she was in worse shape than ever. While Tammy has been relatively quiet about where her health currently stands, the fact that she's still wearing oxygen is a worrying sign for fans. At this point, 1000-Lb. Sisters season 3 does not have an official premiere date, but there's speculation that it could commence in December 2021 or March 2022. Hopefully, the upcoming episodes show Tammy making changes for the better.
