She has gone through some incredibly tough times, while trying to prioritize her health including a near-death medical emergency that left her in a medically induced coma.
With 1000-lb Sisters season 4 sharing some of Tammy's biggest milestones to date, including her engagement and wedding to husband Caleb Willingham, it is fitting that Tammy finally qualified for and had weight loss surgery during filming for this season. 1000-lb Sisters' Tammy Slaton seems to have lost a huge amount of weight since her surgery in late 2022, and though it hasn't been aired on the show yet, she has made a ton of progress post-surgery. Tammy shared several selfies on her Instagram recently, showing off her slimmer face and new hair color. Tammy, who appears to be outside her home in Kentucky, looks like her face has slimmed down considerably, even since the last time she posted a photo. She is wearing a floral top and smiling for the camera, and looks happy in the photos as she shows off her progress without doing so purposefully. Though 1000-lb Sisters star Tammy does appear to still be in a wheelchair, it looks somewhat different from the one she had before, which means that her size has changed enough to require a different type of assistance.

While Tammy has always been able to stand up, it has been a considerable feat for the TLC star in the past, sometimes requiring others to help her into a standing position. After weight loss surgery and some recovery, Tammy looks to be a lot more mobile than she was before, standing up unassisted and posing for photos in a TikTok video posted by @justcornythingss. Though she still has a considerable amount of weight to lose, she seems to be doing great and happy to be appearing at an event. With her mobility getting better, it must be easier to do nearly everything with a smile on her face.

Posing with her sister and goofing off in her signature style, Tammy looks happy as the photos posted by Instagram user Tufftopic were snapped. With her weight loss surgery finally behind her, Tammy still has a lot of work to do in order to continue losing weight. Still, the 1000-lb Sisters star is definitely on her way to a much happier and healthier future.
