Tammy Slaton is infamous for her poor relationship decisions in 1000-lb Sisters, and fans were disappointed to learn that Tammy rekindled her romance with her unpopular ex-boyfriend Jerry Sykes. Tammy has a long list of despised former partners, but Jerry is by far the most detested for his shady background. Although all of Tammy's fans hoped she would be done with Jerry for good, here's everything about the 1000-lb Sisters star's decision to go back to her former flame.

Viewers were introduced to Jerry when he was Tammy's new boyfriend in 1000-lb Sisters season 2. Jerry was a controversial figure in Tammy's life for a variety of devastating reasons. First off, Tammy's siblings Amy and Chris didn't support Jerry's relationship with their sister because they thought he was an enabler. Tammy's primary goal in 1000-lb Sisters is meant to be losing enough weight to save her life. Tammy's failed to meet her weight loss goals and even gained pounds in season 2. Amy and Chris believe that Jerry encouraged Tammy to stray from her diet and eat unhealthy food. The main justification fans use for their aversion to Jerry is his marital status, however. While Jerry was dating Tammy, he was married to another woman with whom he has seven children.

When Jerry and Tammy finally called it quits, Amy, Chris, and 1000-lb Sisters fans were relieved. Without Jerry, Tammy could once again focus on her weight loss ambitions and wouldn't get caught up in someone else's marriage. Although season 3 is meant to be a turning point for the Slaton sister, Tammy revealed that she's regressed in her romantic life. During the 1000-lb Sisters season 3 premiere, Tammy confessed she had seen Jerry again before checking into a rehab facility for food addiction. Immediately, Amy was concerned about Tammy reigniting her relationship with Jerry because the TV personality didn't want Jerry to start encouraging Tammy to cheat on her diet again. Tammy attempted to calm her sisters' concerns by confirming that their relationship is only physical. As CheatSheet reported, Tammy shared with Amy, "A few days ago, I had a minor moment."

Fortunately, it does appear as though Tammy's return to Jerry only lasted for a brief period of time. Although Tammy and Jerry rekindled their sexual relationship, Amy burned all of her untrustworthy ex-boyfriend's things after checking out of her rehab facility. Another reason why fans can be assured that Tammy won't be going back to Jerry anytime soon is the new boyfriend featured in a 1000-lb Sisters season 3 preview. Tammy's most recent relationship is with Phillip, a TikTok star. While Amy and Chris fear Phillip will take on Jerry's habit of enabling Tammy's unhealthy diet, the TikTok user is a step up from Jerry because he isn't married. Hopefully, Phillip's relationship with Tammy will be reliable enough that the 1000-lb Sisters star loses her desire to go back to Jerry.

Tammy's made some questionable romantic decisions throughout her run on 1000-lb Sisters, and getting back with Jerry is one of her most controversial. Although Amy confirmed their reunion was only physical and she's scorched everything of Jerry's that remains, Tammy's fans and siblings were disturbed to hear of her relapse. Fans have their fingers crossed Tammy's experience at rehab in 1000-lb Sisters season 3 prepared her to give up her relationships with unhealthy foods and Jerry.
