Based on his actions in the 1000-lb Sisters season 3 premiere, however, viewers' opinions of Chris are turning against the once-unanimously beloved brother.

By being a faithful source of inspiration for Tammy on her ambition weight loss endeavor but refusing to sugarcoat his sister's bleak reality, Chris quickly became the fan-favorite Slaton sibling. Chris' decisions in season 3, however, have made some audience members less enthusiastic about Amy and Tammy's brother.
After a long break, the Slaton family finally returned to television with the 1000-lb Sisters season 3 debut on November 15. The premiere captured Tammy's controversial decision to leave rehab before achieving her goal of losing 100 pounds. Fans were frustrated with Tammy for bailing on her weight loss objective, but even more annoyed with the reality star's siblings for allowing Tammy to leave the facility. Specifically, viewers were angry at Chris for playing a crucial role in Tammy's rash exit. While some of Chris' supporters might argue he was being a good brother by supporting Tammy with a ride even though he disagreed with her decision to leave, others think Chris should've put his foot down and refused to assist in Tammy's departure. One Reddit user asserted Chris needs to learn how to say "No" and asked, "Why did Chris go and pick her up at rehab place?"
Other 1000-lb Sisters fans shared this Reddit user's frustration with Chris and believed he let Tammy down by being her ride away from the rehab facility. One commenter added, "[Chris and Amy] definitely should have left her there... They need to stop enabling the situation." Because Tammy's health is in jeopardy as long as she doesn't progress in her weight loss venture, viewers don't think there's any room for Chris or Amy to allow Tammy time off from her treatment. Another fan labeled Chris and Amy "major enablers" because "they had a full fledged celebration with balloons upon [Tammy's] return." Conversely, one user argued "[Chris] was worried that she would just get herself kicked out," in defense of the star. Sadly, most fans were disappointed in Chris' shift from holding Tammy accountable to rescuing her from her troubles.
Initially, Chris was seen as the silver lining of the dubious Slaton family, but his actions in 1000-lb Sisters season 3 have caused some fans to lose respect for the brother. Viewers turned against Chris for failing to remain Tammy's voice of reason in the new season. By holding Tammy responsible for her actions once again, Chris could once again become the fan-favorite Slaton family member in 1000-lb Sisters.
