1000-Lb Sisters star Amy Slaton Halterman opened up about what it takes to stick to her strict diet. The mother of two has been on quite the ride when it comes to her journey toward a healthier lifestyle. After having her second son, there's been a fear that Amy may have fallen off the wagon.

Amy shared with Us Weekly a few of her wellness tips that have kept her healthy. 1000-Lb Sisters' Amy Slaton that while she doesn't have a "favorite" workout routine, she has a few go-to ideas regarding healthy eating. Amy said that she enjoys eating smaller meals that are higher in protein and lower in carbs. The 35-year-old admitted that while she still struggles with her weight, it is all about making better decisions. Now with two sons, Gage and Glenn, Amy acknowledged that it is more important than ever to stay on the right track.

Amy's whole purpose now is to live for her two sons, even though the couple doesn't want any more children, noting that trying to improve her lifestyle is "emotional." The 1000-Lb Sisters star balances being a mother with her own self-care by making the most out of her time. Like most mothers, Amy shared that when the two kids are down for a nap, she finds time to have a moment to herself, which could be a hot bath or something special like getting her hair colored.

The Kentucky native opened her life up when she and her sister, Tammy Slaton, decided to share their lives on national TV. During 1000-Lb Sisters season 1, viewers learned that the two sisters had a combined weight of over 1,000 pounds. Their unhealthy lifestyle choices started from a young age as they often had to fend for themselves. Without the proper guidance, Amy and Tammy were left eating junk food and takeout. This inevitably led to them gaining weight, causing the two sisters to live extremely unhealthy lives.

1000-Lb Sisters season 4 has been showing Amy trying her best to balance Gage and her second pregnancy. One scene showed her eating Doritos and canned cheese. While Amy is happy to blame her binge-eating on her pregnancy cravings, she might need to be more mindful of what she's eating. Hopefully, Amy can take her own advice and continue on the road to success with her health tips.
