What an unusual zombie film. All the elements were there and all the Zombie killing was there and the entire post apocolyptic thing was there. But then there was comedy. Not stupid SCARY MOVIE comedy but smart witty sardonic comedy. The kind you’d get if this kind of thing really happened. Shawn of the dead was more of a parody than a straight up Zombie film – the English sense of humor worked in this case. But it was not along the lines of Day of the dead , Night of , Resident Evil and so on….it was a spoof pretty much. But Zombieland created a reality we’re more familiar with. We could actually say this could happen like with all the original Romero films. PS I don’t count those 80′s movies with Linnea Quigley…they were an off shoot from mirror universe…but not what I’m talking about. Good film…5 stars..2 thumbs up and all 20 toes too!….lol

You know, one of my coworkers was telling me that he saw Couple’s Retreat (RT score of 12%…) and thought it was good. So I thought, eh, I guess he has kind of low standards, that’s ok. So I asked, well, did you see Zombieland? He was like “yah, it wasn’t that good.”

…

WHAT???? How can someone like a piece of garbage like Couple’s Retreat and think Zombieland is “not so good”????

Man, I completely understand difference of opinion, but that’s just all kinds of screwed up, lol. I can’t wait to see Zombieland again…

D@nm and i missed that… Thats a huge chuckle moment for us caddyshack fans. Now i gotta see it again cause i don’t want to wait for dvd, Which i’m sure will have several more moments like that maybe even some of murray meeting up with some other friends in zombie mode( that would be hilarious).

It just showed BM sitting there with the hole in his chest about to die in his theater, and Tallahassee is asking him a question and BM replies like his character in Caddyshack where he kind of mumbles everything, remember his character in Caddyshack was kind of retarded or something and you can’t really understand anything he says? That was all it was, he got into the Caddyshack character to say something, I didn’t even understand him, lol. If anyone understood him, please quote it here, lol.

i didn’t stay until the end of the credits but then again I haven’t seen caddyshack.

I enjoyed this movie and had some big laughs. I actually consider it the opposite of Shaun of the Dead. Shaun had more of a plot but I found it boring mostly with almost no laugh out loud moments. That movie was only got exciting near the end. Zombieland however goes straight to the action and laughs which I liked and keeps that pace sustained till the end for the most part.

I knew he wasn’t going to be an addition to the cast, so I was waiting for him to make an exit, like say “alright, time for me to make my rounds down Hollywood Blvd” or something like that since he said the make-up keeps the other zombies from wanting to eat him, lol. But since he didn’t make that exit, my first thought was “oh man, he’s going to die.” LOL

Totally agree with your review, Vic. And Columbus shouldn’t have been using expletives; Tallahasee, yes, Columbus, no. With a lackluster year for movies, this was one of the few shining lights.

Saw the movie tonight, WOW, I went in with high expectations but still thought that it’ll just be a zombie movie, but it WAY exceeded my expectations. What a great movie, I can’t stop thinking about it. I didn’t think it got too long at the end, in fact, I really want to keep seeing it, I want to see what happens next with these four. They did such a great job getting you emotionally tied to the characters, I really felt for them, I actually had that knot in my stomach and was leaning forward in my seat when they looked like they were getting in trouble. I actually had that feeling several times where I was WORRIED that something bad was going to happen to them, it was like I actually knew them and cared what happened to them. They really did a great job with building the characters and making them seem so human that you really connect with them.

I didn’t have a problem with Columbus cursing. Sure he’s a dork, but I’m surrounded by dorks, and dorks curse just as much as anyone else. Tallahassee was really a bad ass. That last scene he really did kick a whole lot of zombie butt…

And surprisingly, since I felt so connected to the characters, I found several scenes to be very touching.

I honestly felt this was the 2nd best movie I’ve seen all year, 2nd only to Star Trek. Man, this movie made the year so worth it… I can’t wait to see it again. I wish for a sequel, I want to see what happens after the ending of this movie…

If you are reading this and haven’t seen this movie yet, just go out and watch it, seriously…
