A secret movie starring Zendaya and John David Washington, called Malcolm & Marie, was filmed during coronavirus. The world has been dealing with the coronavirus pandemic for months, and the virus has mostly shut down Hollywood since March. After almost four months, some productions are starting to resume, and new ones are beginning. But, it appears Zendaya and Tenet's John David Washington managed to film a new movie secretly.

As shared by Deadline, Zendaya and John David Washington developed and completed production on a new movie during the lockdown. The film, titled Malcolm & Marie, is written and directed by Euphoria creator Sam Levinson. Production began on June 17 and finished on July 2, with the entire crew abiding by the guidelines established by various guilds for filming to take place. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but Deadline said the film has "some echoes of Netflix’s Marriage Story, while resonating a number of social themes that the world is experiencing right now." Zendaya confirmed the news by sharing a first-look image on Twitter.

Malcolm & Marie is believed to be the first movie to begin and finish production since the lockdown began. With production only completing a few days ago, it is unclear when and where Malcolm & Marie will be released. The project has already moved forward at an incredible speed, though, so it might not be too far away. Levinson and Zendaya began developing the film on March 16, and the script was cracked in less than a week. The two of them, as well as Washington and a few other producers, financed Malcolm & Marie themselves.
