It's been a bit of a dry spell for DCEU fans waiting to get a better glimpse of this year's Justice League film. While a compelling preliminary trailer hit at Comic-Con 2016, the only glimpses we've caught since then have been in promotional stills. With the film still relatively early in post-production, and not releasing until November, the heavy marketing guns likely won't begin firing until at least late summer. That said, an initial theatrical trailer is expected to hit by the end of Spring.

Justice League will join Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) to fight the villainous Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds). Director Zack Snyder also makes his return to the DC Cinematic Universe, after helming Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Today Seán Murphy of SMTV Reports revealed a screencap from Director Zack Snyder's Vero account. He encouraged fans to be patient for the Justice League trailer while still offering a glimmer of hope.

Justice League - Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Cyborg - Cropped

Gal Gadot recently uttered a nearly identical sentiment, when asked about the absence of a Justice League Super Bowl TV spot. But if the trailer was coming "soon" when she mentioned that on the 8th, wouldn't that mean it should be at least "really soon" by now? Hopefully, "soon" doesn't mean "when Wonder Woman hits in June" because it's unlikely some fans will make it that long without imploding from excitement.

Folks should brace themselves for the possibility that whatever trailer does hit soon may only be rather sparse. In addition to potentially having a dearth of fine-tuned VFX shots ready, Warner Bros. may not want to overshadow Wonder Woman's first feature solo film. It has taken long enough for the First Lady of comics to get the spotlight, without having to compete with herself and a team that includes Batman.

What are you hoping to see in an initial Justice League trailer? A look at the live action Steppenwolf? The resurrection of Superman in his black costume? Let us know in the comments section, and stay tuned for more updates on Justice League as they hit.
