The Bachelor season 27 star Zach Shallcross opened up about why he thinks fans will love his season of the show. Zach, a 26-year-old tech executive who's from Austin, Texas, got his start on The Bachelorette season 19, where he developed a strong connection with Rachel Recchia. However, Zach self-eliminated after their Fantasy Suite date when he felt she turned into a completely different person behind closed doors. Although he left heartbroken, Zach was given a second chance at love when he was announced as The Bachelor.

The Bachelor's Zach Shallcross initially faced harsh backlash when he was cast as the lead. Bachelor Nation wanted a more diverse lead, such as Rodney Mathews, Ethan Kang, or Nate Mitchell. During his season, Zach came off as too boring to carry a whole season on his own. However, as both Zach and host Jesse Palmer have expressed, Zach's season focuses more on love than drama. It is becoming apparent that he might be exactly the type of Bachelor viewers have been longing for. As Zach's season, which has been called a throwback to the heyday of the show, gets underway, Zach explains why he thinks fans will love it.

Zach Shallcross' Bachelor Season Focuses On Love, Not Drama

Both Matt James and Clayton Echard had Bachelor seasons that were tainted by intense drama among the women. Their arguing overshadowed their love stories, and it was frustrating to watch villains dominate the airtime while romance was cast aside. However, in an interview with Us Weekly, Zach promised that his season will be different. He said, "if you wanna watch something ... and actually see love and no bulls*** and not a scene or not an act, then I think you’re really gonna love this show." Zach added, "If you are someone that wants the unnecessary dumb drama - alright, I might not be your guy."

Zach Shallcross Knows What He Wants

Zach shared that he knew what he wanted out of his Bachelor journey. He said, "I know what it takes to have that healthy relationship." Zach admitted that he and Rachel lacked "communication" in their relationship. He went into his season ready to meet his 30 potential love interests, but he did not give himself too many guidelines to follow. On night one, Zach "didn’t have any rules" for himself, as he didn't want to stop himself from "fully taking in and meeting all the women." However, Zach added that his one rule was that he "wanted to meet and speak with all the women I can [with] whatever time allowed and can make work. That was most important to me." The Bachelor season 27 lead also had no qualms about sharing some night one kisses, saying, "sometimes you just had that connection and it’s like, 'Who am I to deny that?' If it feels right. If it’s forced, definitely not. But if it’s natural and it’s mutual, then hell, 'Why not?'"

Zach Shallcross Believes He Can Only Truly Love One Person

The Bachelor's Zach Shallcross

The Bachelor's Zach, who is a Leo, confessed that he believes that people can only have one true love. However, he acknowledged that there are other forms of love, but only one forever love. "I feel like the Bachelor world - Bachelor/Bachelorette - they literally coined the different terms of love: Falling in love, in love, I love you," he confessed. Zach went on to say he is someone who "believes you have one true love [...] The one you think of when you go to bed. The one you think of when you wake up." While Zach believes people only have one true love, "there are varying degrees of love to get to that point [...] But for me, I am a firm believer that there is just that one true love you find. That forever love." Zach, who might be the best Bachelor, could not give away the ending to his Bachelor season, of course, but he concluded by saying that he is "very happy and I think fans are gonna be really surprised at the love journey."

Zach seems to be a mature, stable, and decisive Bachelor, unlike Clayton, who truly believed he was in love with three women. Zach went into his season with a strong belief that there could only be one true love for him. The lack of drama and chaos will help to tell that love story. Hopefully, Zach's season will live up to the expectations and will be one of the best Bachelor seasons ever.
