Fast 8 hits theaters in 2017 and brings with it franchise star Vin Diesel, alongside his longtime Fast & Furious costars and some noteworthy newcomers. A few months before Dominic Toretto rides again though, Diesel will be headlining a different high-octane, globe-trotting, action/thriller franchise installment where he is joined by a vast ensemble cast of international acting talent. The latter is xXx: Return of Xander Cage, the third chapter in the xXx movie franchise and the first to feature Diesel as extreme sports athlete-turned government secret ops agent, Xander Cage, in 15 years.

Where the second xXx film, State of the Union, had the Xander Cage character having been killed offscreen, Return of Xander Cage (as the film’s subtitle implies) retcons that by revealing that Xander has been living in “self-imposed exile” all these years. Xander returns to action when the criminal known as Xiang – played by the Ip Man trilogy martial arts superstar and soon-to-be Rogue One: A Star Wars Story star, Donnie Yen – goes seeking a dangerous weapon known as the Pandora’s Box, threatening the safety of the world at large.

Diesel and Yen’s Return of Xander Cage characters have both gotten their own posters courtesy of Paramount Pictures – as have ten other key players in the film, in fact. Check out the gallery below for those xXx 3 one-sheets; including, posters that feature characters played by Ruby Rose (Orange is the New Black), Toni Collette (Fright Night), Deepika Padukone (Happy New Year), Tony Jaa (Furious 7), Rory McCann (Game of Thrones), Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries), Kris Wu (The Mermaid), Michael Bisping (Hollyoaks Later), singer/songwriter Nicky Jam and Brazilian footballer Neymar Jr. as himself.

Samuel L. Jackson doesn’t get a poster to call his own here, but he is reprising his xXx franchise role as Augustus Eugene Gibbons in Return of Xander Cage – in fact, his character shows up during the movie’s first trailer. Paramount Pictures has announced plans to release the second trailer for Return of Xander Cage online tomorrow (November 1st, at the time of writing this). That means the new trailer may start playing in front of select prints of this week’s major new theatrical release, Doctor Strange, on the big screen in the U.S. this weekend.

The first trailer for Return of Xander Cage has done well in the online trailer views department, so it appears there may yet be a fair amount of interest in this particular Vin Diesel vehicle – one that will serve as counter-programming to the many awards season contending films expanding into wide release over the course of January 2017. Return of Xander Cage will no doubt be bolstered by its ensemble cast at the global box office too; as illustrated by the recent box office performance of Inferno, having a cast that’s full to the brim with name actors from around the world naturally broadens your movie’s appeal, to those outside the U.S. market.

With D.J. Caruso (Eagle Eye, I Am Number Four) directing from a screenplay by F. Scott Frazier (Collide) and Chad St. John (London Has Fallen), Return of Xander Cage stands a fair chance at delivering the sort of goofy-but-fun thrill ride experience that its target demographic will be looking for, when it hits theaters. It seems safe to assume that the third xXx movie won’t do anywhere near Fast & Furious-size numbers at the box office, but it should be able to surpass last year’s would-be Vin Diesel franchise starter, The Last Witch Hunter.
