Ok X-Men Origins as we all know has been leaked.I have seen a copy of this without all the full graphics and have to say it was decent. But there are alot of things that were wrong with the story all together.Deadpool is in it but the way he is used is not going to be popular with any X-men comic fan including myself.I do not want to spoil it for any of you but I know how dissapointed you will be if you watch this expecting certain things.I say now do not expect the comic or anything you know it is about to get hollywoods touch.Which is not a good thing

As far as the Gambit character goes in this movie I bet he will have a farely decent accent. I would even put money to say that was the sole reason for casting him. He does not look that much like Gambit, so i can only assume that they sacrifced the look of the character for the sound.

Now Sabretooth is going to be interesting to see how the character unfolds. Really because of the premise of the movie we will be seeing his orgins as well as Wolverines. So with this in mind i would much rather have a decent name instead of a muscular no name.

I have to say I am not that familiar with the deadpool character. From what I have read he seems to be very indepth. I am curious as to how much screen time Renolds will actually get. I understand that there is setup for a Deadpool spinoff. If so will they not have to explain his origins in his spinoff which leads me to this question. I read somewhere that some of his origins tie back to S.H.I.E.L.D. in the Marvel universe. If that is so do you think that Marvel productions will have a problem with taht considering the upcoming Avengers plot?

Any way as far as this movie goes I am very excited about it. I will definately be in the theaters for this one, if not purely for curiosity.
  • Quicksilver
honestly, just from the trailer, it looks pretty good. hopefully it is.
  • Stacy
    Oh yeah! That's right!
I Don't See X Men Without Gambit!! I've Been Wondering When He Was Going To Show Up :P
  • glenn kirkaldy
Doom 3524 i agree gambit should have the eyes we all know from the comic books and cartoons. makes him look more mutant like. I would like to see the blob a bit bigger as well. This film is going to be soooooo cool. i got goose bumps.
  • Doom3524
    This movie is gonna rock.

Gambit is the one that is going to make or break this for me though. I just worry about his accent and his eyes. To me, those are just as important as his powers. The character is all about his charm and his accent is what thats all about, and his eyes are as much a part of his appearance as his Jacket, and if he doesnt have them, he will just be a Gambit rip off to me.

Then again, Gambit is my favorite Hero in all of comic books, so I am sort of biased :-)
  • Stacy
Hmmm... In "MY" opinion, I like the fact that they kept 'Hugh Jackman' as Wolverine and I believe he portrays him very well. I dislike it it when characters are changed, James Bond for example.. How many have there been so far?? 3? 4? You see my point haha

I've always been a huge fan of MARVEL and could be quite smashing!
Keep up the good work heh.
  • KEL
Very good. Reminds me of a fan film the way it's spliced together but it was good. :D

DC, getcha damn act together!! Marvel's got their damn second stringers getting movies now! ;)

    @Rob

oh man, when I think about how many hours I've spent on Ultimate Alliance. I'm trying to unlock ALL the achievements. Just got to unlock the surfer and I'm done.

I love the idea's for the next Legends game and the Civil War arc in Ultimate Alliance. I think they will probably go with a modified Onslaugt story line to get all the heroes, and some villains, together. But I would rather see Civil War. That way we could legitimately have the heroes fighting other heroes, instead of having to fight "Dark" heroes. That is so dumb. Maybe the game could be two sided. You pick which side of the war you will fight on, each having it's own roster of heroes, and it's own story. When I start to think about all the possibilities there...
the comic geek inside me is going crazy right now!
  • Jon,

Ya man, I saw the trailer and I'm super excited for that game. It's very hard to find 4 player co-op games for my buds and I. The X-Men Legends games and now these Marvel Alliance ones help fill that void.

As for the characters of MA, the first one I noticed featured all the characters who were in movies around that time. It featured only the X-Men who made a big splash in the terrible X3, the FF4: Silver surfer characters, punisher, blade, ghost rider, etc.

I kinda wished they made another X-Men Legends game with a boatload of those characters. That way we can have the Civil War arc featued in MA, and the Messiah Complex, House of M, etc. featured in XML.

    @Rob
I have to agree. No Cajun accent, no Remy Labeau. Period. I really hope they get it right. And I expect Gambit to make appearances in a ton of upcoming marvel games, as well as in his own solo film. IF, they get him right. So far, so good. But they need the accent. And with Colossus not being Russian in X3, it wouldn't shock me if Gambit didn't have the accent either. So it is still a big if.

As far as Ultimate Alliance 2 goes (I know it is a little off topic, sorry) I would LOVE to see Gambit in the game. But less X-Men overall. I was disappointed that they left out some really good heroes in the game and went with all those X-Men. And they have a chance to fix the voice of Deadpool. It just didn't sound the way I have envisioned him. Here's what I am really hoping for in UA2: The Punisher, Gambit, and a variety of Villains as playable characters. The heroes/villains expansion pack was cool, and made me want more villains. They could work the story to force some team up. And fix Deadpool's voice!!!

Have you seen the new trailer for UA2? The combo system they show looks sweet!

    @ Dannyboy
By the looks of things, that was actually Hugh little James was stabbing, so I think he might be playing Thomas Logan, from Origin. If that's true, we may be seeing some representation of the whole Dog possibly being Sabretooth thing.
  • Cameth
I think I preferred the other trailer. From Comic-Con. Seemed a bit more exciting.

Still, can't wait to see it. Maybe it's one X-Men movie they won't completely mess up.
  • Gary
The Trailer looks pretty Good .
As long as the primary focus is the origin of Wolverine,
I will have no problem with this film.
  • Dannyboy
I'd like to know who all is in the "special team", I can't quite make everybody out, but there is a huge dude on the left side! Excited about Deadpool, but the Blob looks like crap. Looks like a cheesey fat suit... Regardless, I'll be there, and was that Sabretooth that little Wolvie was digging those claws into?
  • I'm very happy now. Huzzah for all the extra characters!

    2009 is looking good! :D

As for a 'fun' Wolvie storyline, for those who have read it the 3 part mini-series 'Claws'. (Black Cat and Wolvie) might be quite cool. The question would be this: Live Action or Animated?
  • G.K
I want to like this, I REALLY DO! However, you compare this to Iron Man, Hulk, and Batman. You see how much time and care went into making those films into what they are and the care that was given to them-makes this seeem lackluster in the end.

I fear for me that this might end up like the Fantastic Four; I liked it at first, then after some sructeny and repeated viewings I began to gain a dislike for it. That is what I fear will happen with this film as well. In contrast, if I were to Watch Batman 89, Dark Knight, and Iron man all in one sitting then I would ove every minute of it.
  • INK
Looks very promising. I've given up on any FOX comic book movie keeping close to the source material so I am planning on wiping my mind clean of its impressive knowledge of Wolverine, Deadpool, Gambit and the rest of the characters so to enjoy the movie that much more. :)
  • @ High Kalibur

100% with you on the voice. Chris Potter of 'Kung Fu: The Legends Continue' fame who played Gambit's good voice in that animated series (that of the first 4 seasons) was absolute perfection for his voice.

It was that series that made me fall in love with the X-Men and make Gambit one of my favourite characters ever.

Hugh Jackman's Wolverine + Ryan Reynold's Deadpool in proper costume + this gambit with the proper voice = an incredibly awesome on-screen extravaganza. Geeze, if they do that right, I could watch a franchise of films with just them, forget these origin stories, lol.

What I'm excited about too (and this is for the gamers out there) is that since Gambit is featured in this film, he'll likely be featured in the upcoming Marvel games. I'm hoping to see him in Ultimate Alliance 2. I don't care for the movie tie-in game since they all tend to be horrible.
  • Ironghost
I liked it. I did get a kick out of seeing Gambit on the screen. I won't be heartbroken if the actor couldn't do a Cajun accent right, honestly. It takes skill to imitate correctly, and I'd rather see it not done than done badly.
  • I'm here to help. :-P

    @Vic

I feel validated now. Thank you. ;)
  • @prtfvr

LOL, you're not invisible... we acknowledge you! :-P

    Vic
  • prtfvr
I feel invisible here but I must not be saying anything note worthy. Damn it! ;)

    @Vic

I loved Sabretooth's fangs. They should hire whoever made them and hire them to do vampires' fangs from now on. TV AND movies. They always seem so lame. The big S's are small but mighty. I'll bet they give you SUCH a pinch! ;)

Seriously, I think there are some vamps out there in imagination land who would be better served using those instead of the normally saber tooth tiger sized fangs they put on everyone for your viewing entertainment.
  • @ S.Matt

I actually liked the fangs on Sabretooth. More subtle than huge.

    Vic
  • S.Matt
    2 things here-
!) Am I the only one who thinks that Sabertooth's fangs look cheesy? Really though, I'm digging Schreibertooth.

and 2) I have a feeling, based on that little shot that could be Wade, that given proper costume and scarring, with the witty banter sure to accompany it, that Deadpool could be one of the coolest comic book "heroes" ever brought to the big screen.
  • High Kalibur
    @ John "Kahless" Taylor

Definitely agree that Wolverine should be an R flick but look at how skillfully The Dark Knight was done... a PG 13 doesn't necessarily limit the violence. And let's not joke... Wolverine is violent, no escaping it.

    @ Rob Keyes, Dizzy

Most definitely! Whenever I picture Gambit talking I hear the dude from X-Men The Animated Series! Anyone else think he should sound like that!?
  • DiZZy
    @ Rob Keyes

Yeah I agree with you about the Cajun accent. That would seriously destroy it. Here's to hoping that they'll release another trailer with him talking.
  • Brooster
maybe in the footage we have seen so far, Schreiber has not yet turned into the Sabretooth we are all familiar with. This is an origin story. Maybe he goes from looking normal into the beast we all know from the comics, may be part of the reason he hates Wolverine so much. Wolvy is a beast but still looks normal..tell me to shut anytime if I am way off base...
  • Jon,

I firmly believe they're keeping Deadpool a big secret for as long as they can. I think he'll be a huge scene stealer and since Fox ix clearly hoping to pop out a spinoff with him, I think he'll be awesome in the movie.

At least I hope - I also hope they give him the full proper outfit and mask.

As for Gambit, I LOVED all of his scenes and showing the glowing card and staff answered some of my questions.

I can get past them not having the red/black eyes but if they droped the cajun accent...I will be incredibly disappointed to the point where I'll expect another X3 (colossus aint russian?).

As of right now, this is in my top 3 most anticipated films of next year.
