The fifth X-Men feature film and prequel to the series, X-Men: First Class, is currently shooting scenes in London before production moves over to the U.S. While it has been confusing for many trying to decipher what story First Class would be attempting to tell from the comics, producer Bryan Singer explained a few weeks back that the movie is not the same as the Marve’s First Class book series and that it is instead based in the 1960s, following the relationship between young Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and young Eric Lensherr (Michael Fassbender).

Since then, we’ve seen our first look at January Jones as the popular Emma Frost character through some set photos and now we have several more images, depicting McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence on set, as well as updates regarding Frost’s and Mystique’s costumes, and news on a scene from the original X-Men film being re-shot to be used in First Class.

Emma Frost & Her Costume

Anyone familiar with Marvel’s X-Men comics is very familiar with the White Queen and her risque wardrobe decisions. Her attire (or lack thereof) puts the telepathic and diamond skinned Frost as one of the “hottest” female characters in modern comics.

While we had a glimpse of January Jones sporting a white outdoor costume as Emma Frost in some earlier set photos, we can now confirm that she will sport her own brand of lingerie in the film. The following tweets come from British English television and radio presenter, Jonathan Ross:

“I probably shouldn’t tweet this…but – saw some footage from X-Men First Class this morning. It will be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

“Also I was there for the filming of a January Jones as Emma Frost scene…in lingerie. Fanboys, start your drooling….”

Bryan Singer did promise that X-Men: First Class would feature the characters in classic old school X-Men costumes closer to that of the books so…

A Blue Mystique

Total Beauty reports that actress Jennifer Lawrence – seen below in set photos – will be in the buff for 12 hours of prosthetics and an indigo-colored paint job. She apparently almost turned down the role until reading the story of the prequel.

X-Men Movie Continuity

As expected, First Class will not be paying any tribute to the comic series it is named after and instead will be taking us to the years before we meet the mutants known as Cyclops and Jean Grey. It is however, tying into the previous X-Men films and does stay within that “continuity.”

Bleeding Cool has learned that director Matthew Vaughn will be recreating at least one scene featured in Bryan Singer’s original X-Men film, that of the memorable and powerful introduction which featured a young Eric Lensherr (to be played by Bill Milner this time around) and family being hauled off by the Nazis into an internment camp.

Set Photos

Many photos have been hitting the net from the publicly shot scenes in London for X-Men: First Class but Twentieth Century Fox has had their lawyers on the case, sending cease and desist letters to several sites, having them take down images of some of the main cast. There are a few still up which feature James McAvoy (Professor X) and Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique) on set, as well as on showing off the X-Men: First Class movie logo as can be seen on one of the cast chairs.

The McAvoy-Lawrence shots come from a scene shot at Oxford which also features Rose Byrne’s Moira MacTaggert character.
