Warning: SPOILERS for Marauders #10

Jonathan Hickman's X-Men run has set a new status quo for the mutants of the Marvel Universe, rebooting the franchise and giving hundreds of mutants a second chance. While some mutants have even received major power upgrades since the launch of the series, Emma Frost has showcased a revealing weapon in her artillery -- as her assets have proved to be an asset in battle.

After Kate Pryde's death, many held Emma Frost responsible. While Emma may have grown close to Kate, and the series focused around Kate's emotional growth as a character, her passing truly affected Emma. But, Kate's passing saw her friends lash out at Emma with Storm delivering an emotionally raw slap across her face. Emma is far from innocent, but Hickman's series has attempted to redeem her, and that redemption continues in Marauders #10.

The mutants of Krakoa discovered a group of Russians is making power-dampening weapons based on Forge's old designs. Because all technical files were deleted when he quit the U.S. government, Forge is shocked to hear the news while testing his newest batch of whiskey -- until he realizes one of the engineers that worked for him had a photographic memory and is the likely culprit for the resurgence of the technology. Emma and the Marauders sail to take out the Russian freighter that is doubling as a floating weapons factory.

The team arrives at the freighter via the Mercury -- a UFO which Emma tells Pyro is a tale for another time. Stopping the ship with massive icebergs thanks to Iceman, the team teleports aboard the ship. Their mission may be to destroy the weapons and leave no one to tell the tale, but Krakoan law forbids murdermur. Emma may be bound by Krakoan law, but she knows of other ways to ensure she can enact some violence against the ship's henchmen. As the White Queen and Pyro navigate through the ship's corridors they come upon four henchmen who immediately open fire on them. Separated while taking cover, it looks like the two are pinned down -- until Emma begins to undress. She rounds the corner with her jacket completely open, stunning the henchmen into stopping their onslaught.

Emma Frost Assets

Raising her hands in submission, Emma claims she knows when she has met her betters, stunning them with her undone jacket. She quickly notes that they are not superior to her, demonstrating this by controlling their minds, forcing them to shoot each other in their legs -- making sure to not break Krakoan law. Pyro comes out of hiding, exclaiming "Hot damn!" -- while it is not known whether he is commenting on the bloody scene he walks into or Emma's state of undress, he does ask her how she was able to control so many of the henchmen at once. Emma is a powerful mutant with telepathic abilities, and she explains how easy it is to control 'learing monkeys', especially when they all have the same thought.

Unfortunate as it is for the henchmen to get a first-hand experience in how powerful a mutant Emma is, it isn't such a bad way to go out and it would surely make for a good story for them to tell. If only they could. Since the X-Men Marauders' mission was to make sure no one would be able to tell the tale, once the team takes control of the ship the Cuckoo Sisters erase all of their memories -- implanting a fabricated story involving alien abduction, and hours of prodding before they are dropped off in Red Square in Russia. Using the Mercury ship adds further credence to the story to ensure no one would think otherwise.
