X Men First Class Movie X Jet X Jet Takes A Tumble in New X Men: First Class TV Spot

Despite a rushed production and entering the marketing game late, Twentieth Century Fox is doing a remarkable job through trailers, TV spots and clips at generating excitement for X-Men: First Class. The X-Men franchise prequel releases in three weeks and if you’ve been to your local theater, you may have seen a giant “X” logo on display.

Another X-Men: First Class TV spot has released online and while it follows the trend of keeping to the same structure and footage as all of the trailers released thus far, it is the first to offer a scene of the X-Jet crash landing.

When director Matthew Vaughn and co. were shooting X-Men: First Class back in December, set photos revealed the crashed Blackbird, known as the X-Jet, and now we see how it gets that way. As we know, this modified X-Men vehicle, based off of the unique looking Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, is but the first jet Xavier will utilize for his team of mutants, as we later see a far more advanced X-Jet in the X-Men trilogy.

Check out the latest X-Men: First Class TV spot for the scene and a sample of the epic score to go along with it:

It’s almost as sad as the Tumbler Batmobile getting destroyed in The Dark Knight. Either the X-Jet got shot down, the Hellfire Club is to blame, or Beast is a terrible pilot.

If you missed the last ad, watch it here again as well:

In the Marvel Comics, the first X-Jet was originally a prototype provided by SHIELD, but in the movie universe, that organization can only be used by Marvel Studios, so Twentieth Century Fox will have it provided by the CIA instead. In the trailers we see Hank McCoy working for the CIA with the model prop of the vehicle in the background as well as a scene of Xavier looking at the model. We can assume that’s how they acquire their short-lived ride.

The X-Men: First Class cast includes James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, Jennifer Lawrence, January Jones, Rose Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Jason Flemyng, Zoë Kravitz, Lucas Till, Oliver Platt, Ray Wise, Edi Gathegi, Caleb Landry Jones and Álex González.

X-Men: First Class hits theaters June 3rd, 2011.

  1. I think this movie will be awesome. I hope the rushed production doesn’t ruin the film and its chances of becoming a new xmen trilogy

  2. hope the sequels use young characters like juggernaught, barnel bohusk aka beak, chamber who lost his lower jaw and can breathe fire, and has telepathy, husk the chick witha new texture under her skin every time she pills a layer away, glob herman the wax man, anole the cameleon, mammomax the elephant, sinister, cyclops, john sublime a human who wants to be a mutant, and apocalypse. i also want to see the sentinel story as humans fear mutants and what they might do to humans, and they use them as weapons to hunt down the mutants, and the mutants that do not even want to hurt mutants like beak, and anole, then magneto could come in and recruit his brotherhood as they are being hunted like sabretoothe, avalache, toad, and blob.

    • Crap! I don’t even know you can fit all that in a trilogy! MAN YOU SURE KNOW YOUR COMICS. Impressive.

  3. i also hope we see x-men 4 and 5 back to back that takes place after x-men 3 last stand were a new threat appears and magneto joins them. they could bring back everyone from the first three films, and older versions of first class characters like banshee, moria, havok, and angels/beaks son tito bohusk. then we could see more of colossus, iceman, angel/archangel,nightcrawler,beast,gambit,rogue,kitty,storm,jubilee,mystique,sabretoothe,and of course wolverine.

    • seriously. stop.

    • They would never give them half the budget to do the effects for allot of those characters. And even if they did I can’t imagine how some of those newer freak-show characters would even come out on screen.

  4. Seriously, was anyone sad that the Tumbler got destroyed in TDK? It was awful!

    • The bike that came out of the tumbler was far cooler IMHO

      • Indeed, I have crapped out things cooler than the Tumbler.

        • DSM,

That’s a really gross comment. And ridiculous. The Tumbler was a VERY cool concept, whether you think so or not.

          • Agreed. The tumbler was ballin’. I can’t think of a cooler original vehicle in a movie.

          • Sorry Vic, but I dont think it’s cool at all.

      • I thought the bike was totally out of place in that movie. Didn’t like the design and the scene where it went up the wall and changed direction was the worst scene in the film.

        • I agree entirely. Though the bike WAS cool, it just didnt have the Bats feel to it. And with the scene of it running up the wall…fail. It was so bad it almost ruined the movie for me. Tumbler was an amazing concept. The classic batmobiles were cool looking but they were weak. They drove at around 30mph WITH the rocket booster on whereas the tumbler could hit 200mph. not to mention that its a chevy ;)(and a hybrid – hence the stealth mode in BB)

        • I disagree. When the bike flipped the truck was awesome. Yeah the wall flip was a little silly that’s a given. But every bat vehicle ever does silly things. I think the bike was way cooler than the tumbler.

  5. Crappy you tube can’t even get out of it’s own way, why anyone would use it in a major way is a mystery…

  6. @DrSamBeckett: I never comment on sites like this but I happen to love Screenrant, so maybe this will be the beginning of something new for me…ARE YOU NUTS?! The tumbler was BY FAR…THE coolest batmobile ever to grace the screen…to say otherwise is…almost blasphemy! :)

    • It wasn’t a batmobile, I can understand using it as a basis in the first film but it needed an upgrade for TDK, so luckily it got destroyed and it will be better in the last film. Blowing up the tumbler was one of the few things TDK did right, unlike the horrible costume.

  7. x-men 1st class is going 2 b x plosive!!!

  8. its the beginning of the mutant

  9. the x-jet is ok

    • The “X Jet” is an SR-71 Blackbird jet is a bad mother effer. Old mother Russia will attest to that.

  10. i hope they make all mutant story
