Not gonna lie…
this looks like the Lifetime channel version of X Men.
Not feelin it…at ALL.
I don’t care to see Emma’s boobs, why is Satan in the background? And on top of that apart from the standard Xavier, Eric, Mystique, and Beast (who shouldn’t be blue according to x2) the rest of these people are simply no bodies. I had high hopes for this film, but in all honest after seeing this they are crashing.
Satan? If you’re referring to the red dude in the back, That’s Azazel (in the comics, he’s Nightcrawler’s dad). As for the rest being nobodies, I’d hardly call the White Queen a nobody in the X-Men universe. And since this is supposed to be the early BACK story, Moira McTaggart is pretty much a pivotal character in Prof. X’s younger life, and you can’t very well talk about Scott’s teen years, and emerging powers without mentioning his brother, Alex. As far as Beast being blue, I would presume that they’re going to be using the storyline where he reverts between his blue furry form and his human form as he tries to get control over his powers. His dislike for his obvious mutant appearance is a big part of developing Hank’s character. That just leaves Angel Salvatore. I’ll give you that one. She has no business being in this storyline, but then it’s been pretty clearly established that the movie storyline is not the same as the comics continuum.
Agreed… this looks awful, but I think it’s the poor photoshop work more so than the costumes and/or actors themselves. And Luke, you should buff up on your X-men (especially if you’re basing your knowledge of the recent trilogy). Angel, Moira, and Havok are hardly “nobodies”.
Regarding their roles in the comics, yeah sure, they aren’t nobodies. But still, with that said, these Characters are nothing but supporting characters to the true drivers of the xmen universe. And the ones they chose to drive this film are not interesting enough to throw in to an origin story, apart from Moria, that will follow Xavier and Eric. They seem heavily miss-placed and in relation to people who will be seeing this with no knowledge of the comics they will be nobodies. It only make sense for these films to flow in continuity with events already established in x1-3 and origins, but its become a muddled mess of mutant happy propaganda. Simply throwing someone in because they sound cool rather than how much they actually fit into the story. Bottom line is, this film does not deserve to be called First Class when in all actuality it is not the First Class that would have flown well into the stories already told.
Luke… 100% agree with that explanation. If they’re going to make a movie about Eric and Xavier than do it… but make it about them without calling it “first class” because these mutants are definitely not that.
Wow this is depressing, I think we can all agree that this is gonna be a stinker.
Judging a book by it’s cover I see? Hmm….let’s hope they don’t put Zach Galifianakis’ obese mediocre face on the poster of Hangover 2, because that would make it a potentially HORRIBLE movie.
This is both a depressing thing, and yet a beautiful thing, espically in the “Movie” X-Men world. Based off Comics, No! This is not the “First Class” (Which in comics contains Cyclops,Jean Grey, IceMan, Abgel, and Beast) but in the Movie verizon which we all learned to love, thats not how they designed the team. X-Men “Movie” Team was designed with just Wolverine (Main POV), Cyclops, Storm, Jean Grey, and of course Pro. X. The team drastically changed by the “Last Stand” Which was not a bad thing at all. Through the movies (Even Wolverine: Orgins) They presented more characters (Angel, NightCrawler, Gambit, ect.) Characters, we all have grown to love. This is cannot be the “The Firts Class” We have all grown up with.
Story wise this is amazing and will fill alot of loop holes. Such as: How Xavier and Magneto trully became Heros/Enemies/Friends. The cast also is a huge part cause it introduces the Story of Mystique and Azreal being NightCrawlers father, Havok introducing the growth/Introduction of Cyclops. This will tie in much of what happened between the break and timeline of the “Movie” X- Men universe.
hi i cant wait to see this movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well after reading the above comments I can say this, being a long time follower ( very early 80′s) I have to disagree on a few things. Hellfire Club was a major player for quiet awhile and so was Havoc. The story evolved all the time and some characters faded away because the story needed it not because they were not big. As far as this not being the first class, although very true do a little research and you will find a full explanation as to why. It was a big timeline issue. So they are not trying to hide that fact, but many things in the previous movies were not ” true ” to the X – men storyline also. Either way it looks to be a great movie and I hope that they use Havoc well, he was pretty potent and I believe even took his brother down once.
well after reading all his commnts i might as well add that this is supposed to be x- factor well according to the comic book, and for those people that think that x men has only 4 or 5 movies ,or is recently stuff i urge u to look for the comic its the real story of all this “movies” , for me is my life and i think that they are close to the comic book , ant havock did get his brother, but then they had an accident and cyclops lookd at his brother and make a chaos , something like that
