Many of the mutants in X-Men: Days of Future Past are ones that we've seen before, whether they're mainstays of the franchise, like Wolverine, or new versions of old characters, like Evan Jonigkeit as a young Toad. With a massive cast of main and regular characters, however, X-Men: Days of Future Past also adds quite a few new faces from the comic books.

One of these mutants is Clarice Ferguson AKA Blink, played by Fan Bingbing (Beginning of the Great Revival). Fan, who also had a very small role in the Chinese cut of Iron Man 3, certainly looks very striking even among the colorful and bizarre members of the X-Men, with her bright green eyes and purple-streaked hair. As a new character featurette about Blink shows, however, there's a lot more to her than just her looks.

Unlike other teleporters (Nightcrawler, for example) who simply zap themselves from one place to another, Blink's ability works by creating a set of portals that function as a door through which either herself or other characters can pass. This means that she can use her powers either to quickly escape from tough situations, or defensively by throwing one into the path of an attacking enemy, which should prove useful in a fight against the terrifying Sentinels.

Blink in X-Men Days of Future Past

According to the early reviews of X-Men: Days of Future Past, Blink doesn't get a whole lot of lines in the movie - though with so many characters jostling for space that's probably to be expected. Since X-Men: Apocalypse is set in the 1980s rather than the future it may unfortunately be some time before we see her again.

Other new mutants to keep an eye out for in X-Men: Days of Future Past are Sunspot (Adan Canto), Bishop (Omar Sy), Warpath (Booboo Stewart) and Quicksilver (Evan Peters). Quicksilver in particular has been widely praised as having one of the movie's best action scenes, but Blink looks like she'll be a formidable addition to the team as well.

Tell us in the comments whether you like the look of Blink's powers in action, and if you're hoping to see her again in future sequels.
