X-Men 4 With Lost Star As Gambit?

According to ShowBizSpy.com, Josh Holloway, who lately has been playing the “kinder and gentler” conman Sawyer on ABC’s Lost has stated he’s been approached by Fox to play the part of Gambit in X-Men 4.
If this is in fact true, then it confirms that despite the studio announcing that they were done making X-Men movies (yeah, right) they are indeed going ahead with another sequel.
For fans of X-Men 3 this is good news, and it may even be good news for those of us who thought that movie was mediocre. A new movie means another turn at bat and there’s always that snowball’s chance in hell that if they make it, X-Men 4 could be better.
Holloway said:
“We had a meeting and they wanted me to play Gambit, the card dealer character, they thought I’d be perfect for the part. We’ll see.”
He went on to say that he’d love to play a superhero:
“l would love to play a superhero. I’d love to wear a cape and tights”
Last time I checked Gambit doesn’t have a cape, although he has worn a long trench coat and does wear tights.

I’m liking the possibility of another X-Men movie…this time with Gambit!
My whole family has been waiting to see Gambit come out because he #@$*!#* bad ass. We well wait patiently to see his card tricks….uh,hurry up already!

Like most of you Real FANS of X-Men, I too read the comic, but unlike alot you I loved movie’s. You have to remember that no mater how good a writer you might be, it is imposible to put 20+ years of back history and stories in 6 hr.s of film. Sadly that ment that they had to rewrite the history books of the greatest story ever told. Now that been said, Gambit is in my top 5 best caracters in the books, and they beter not screw up his story like they did with Rogue, Phinex, Wolvey ect. or there will be hell to pay..

Vincent Cassel was to old for the 10 yr.s ago. Unless they are starting a new story, and cutting the whole cast they have to keep him young.
I heard that rumor aswell but on wiki it confirms it on holloways bio which means there most likely is going 2 be another x-men movie which will be great i can’t wait plus there wll be a wolverine and magnet only movies but i’ll be going to wolverine never liked magneto 2 be honest
I SOOOOoooo!! hope they make a new X-Men movie. I loved the last one and they should make atleast 2 more. Gambit should Sooo be in it to. I mean come on how you make a X-Men movie and leave out Gambit.. thats was Sooo wrong..

I think matthew mcconaughey would make a good gambit i think.
how can you not like magneto without him xmen would have nothing to do but sit on there a** anyways its about time they throw gambitin the mix x3 bombed hope they do better on x4
I wouldn’t call it a bomb, they made a ton scratch with that flick, but they did piss a lot of fans off by kill off half the cast. It’s going to be interesting to see how they explain a large chunk of their cast being gone “characters that are still alive in the comics.

Prof-X isn’t gone, he reassigned him self to a new body (remember the end of X-3). Jean Grey doesn’t mater because Cyclopes is dead as well and they’ll just bring out more characters from Marvel past to fill in the void! They already ruined the story behind Phoenix anyway!!!(She’s better off DEAD)

Don’t forget this is a comic. For all we know this body he transferred to is his Twin brother. You have to remember that they made a big deal out of the guy in the coma. They used his voice at the end of the X-3, I think this is wear they’re heading with it.
cyclops is not dead. remember, when cyke and jean were kissing in x3, right before she supposedly killed him, that scene in the movie shifted to another scene. we don’t know exactly what happened to cyke. therefore, because we don’t know, it’s more than likely that cyke is alive. the only one that is gone for sure is jean grey, thanks to wolverine. but i want a new cast. the guy that played angel in x3 was terrible. he looked scrawny, and was small. you mean to tell me they couldn’t find someone much taller, will long flowing blond hair?
I’ll be honest with I don’t really care if Cyclops is dead or not, he didn’t do anything in 3 films. I do care about Prof-X and how they plan to bring in Gambit. As far as angle goes I would have been happier if it was Ark
Angel and not pretty boy Floyd. I know that jumps around a lot but none of the characters are the right age anyway. I still say that Cy is dead for 2 big reasons.1 while they were making this film they said that this was the last film and they wanted to end with a bang. 2 If he’s not dead then you’re telling me that he’s stuck in the woods with out glasses and no one is coming to save him.
FYI I was just on IMDB and all of you need to see who’s playing Gambit, Blob, Dead-Pool, and I’m guessing a younger Sabor Tooth.
either that or prof X probably had a hand in cyke’s life being spared. besides, the suits can say whatever they want. whenever they say that a film is going to be the last film it never is. sometimes they actually do mean it, but they always leave a window open for themselves just in case they decide to make a sequel some 5 to 8 years later. Example: the terminator movies, the friday the 13th movies, etc, etc, etc.
don’t mean to distance myself from the x movies, but just to make a point…when they sent jason to hell i think back in 1994(the movie where freddy’s hand grabbed jason’s mask at the end of the film) that was supposed to be the last movie of jason, however, freddy vs. jason came out in 2005 or 6, and now there is talk of bringing jason back again.
Wasn’t talking just about the production company, the actors said that it was time to move on. Just like that kid who plays Spidy. He just like a lot of the X-Man are scared of being type casted and taken seriously in other roles. That’s why they just started killing off characters in the X-3 “go out with a bang”.
i don’t think that is why. the good thing about superhero flicks is that you can always recast for the main character. example: batman. michael keaton was the best batman ever. but he left the role, only to have george clooney and val kilmer (who was the worst) as his replacements. the big shots in the studios like to kill off the main characters (heroes or the villain) simply so they can say that they had a hand in the movie, other than making the movie itself. there’s actually a legal term for it that i can’t remember right now.
the studios execs never follow the comic book line by line, they always want to put some of their own mess into a film. that stinks because it’s usually their 2 cents that causes the movie to stink like unwashed toes.
Your logic only makes sense with movies such as Batman and Punisher because of the amount of time between sequels. People these days have the attention spans of Nat’s so it doesn’t matter if the faces changed. X-Men came out 2-3 came out right on top of each other, and if they change everything now on this sequence I don’t think it will do well.
Case and point, Batman vs. Batman Begins. Enough time had paced to clear the room of the fowl stench left behind from Batman Begins to Change the face of Batman, but they decided to take it a step further and change direction as well. The Punisher is a little different because they only have to change one face, not fake half a cast and hope no one notices. By the way I liked Val, but Christian Bale is the best Batman.
