2008 was the last time we saw Agents Mulder and Scully in the film X-Files: I Want to Believe, after a nine-season run of The X-Files TV series on the FOX network that ended in 2002. The show that taught us to believe returns this upcoming January, and the revival is highly anticipated by fans.

Marketing for the X-Files revival continues in full swing. We've received a handful of trailers for the event, as well as additional promotional material. Now we have more posters to tide us over until the January release.

The Wrap brings us three new promotional posters for the upcoming revival that you can check out below. According to The Wrap, these will be the final teaser images for the rebooted series. The first image reveals an ominous-looking eye with a dark "X" across it, clear evidence that Fox will continue with the "monster of the week" approach to their episodes - a classic approach to the original show.

The other two posters feature a twist on the iconic "I Want to Believe" poster which hung in the office of Fox Mulder (played by David Duchovny) for the entire 9-year run of the X-Files TV show - and one appears to show an alien hand behind glass. Check out all three of those X-Files one-sheets, below:

It will be interesting to see the extent of alien involvement in this film, since we learned from creator Chris Carter that the revival will consist primarily of standalone episodes, with less focus on the mythology of the show. Alien technology will certainly play a part, but we'll have to wait and see if aliens have any further involvement.

After X-Files: I Want to Believe failed critically and financially, we've waited for the show to get its proper sendoff. So far, the promotional material for this revival look great, a true return to what made the show a classic. Surely the phrase, "I still want to believe" demonstrates that nothing has changed. Besides having David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson back as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully respectively, the X-Files revival will feature Joel McHale and Lauren Ambrose, among others, in new roles.
