Yeah Niall, this is a dark film, in the end you understand why its called "I want to Believe".
(I would hope Vic let's you write a review on the film, I don't think he's gonna). It would be a week late but I wouldn't care.

SERIOULSY NIALL,,if you want to be the HERO of your movie theater when the credits roll, and people get up, tell them to sit back down, there's a great scene at the end , I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH !!!

Don't forget !!!!
;-)

Also this film is hardcore, I wouldn't reccomend any children see this, they wouldn't get it anyway.

I actually didn't really get turned on to the series until about 1997 after it had been on for a few years. Then I started to watch it religiously and even rented the previous seasons so that I could get caught up. I also missed the last couple of seasons due to life events, but when I got my DVR a couple of years ago, set it to record all of the X-Files reruns and sat and watched the entire series from beginning to end. No, not in one sitting.

It's still an excellent show and holds up well, in my opinion one of the best TV shows ever, hands down. I think what makes it work is the solid writing and characterization. The supernatural aspects of the show almost seem incidental as a result.

And by the way, I think it deserves mentioning that Peter Boyle won an Emmy award for his performance on the episode he appeared in.

Niall, Dark Skies, was more about the events in Roswell and the history of Majestic 12. It was a great show the was (IMO) taken off the air because they were hitting too close to the truth.
(Course the network says the show had low ratings, but I've heard differently).

So Niall, you havnt seen the X-files season 8 & 9 ??? Wow your in for a treat. There's a great "Cop"s episode were Mulder & Sully are on scene with the makers of Cops, its filmed in the same real-time style of Cops. It was real stand out episode.
Season 9 was exceptional as every episode basically answered or solved part of the shows conspiracy arc, I remember a real cool episode where they re-created the Brady Bunch living room, down to the smallest detail for the story. And the series finale brought mulder back for the final 2 hour episode. Great stuff.
Alot of ppl rag on seasons 7 thru 9 but as a hardcore fan, I say the show never let up. ;-)

Let's hope the film has a good plot. The trailers look very boring.

I'm a fan of X-Files and just recently (couple of months ago) started to watch from the beginning. I had never the chance (too young, too late programmed hours, ...) to watch the show in all it's glory. And now had a chance to borrow them from a friend and I'm almost through season 2. What I love abou this serie is that it's a bit old, it doesn't use the unrealistic methods of CSI, and of course it comes very much in touch of those strange questions we have inside. I will go and see this film next week, and I hop e there will be a few more to come.
