Last week on WWE Raw, The Miz went out of his way to needle Roman Reigns about his past association with the once-dominant faction known as The Shield, during a contentious edition of Miz TV. This led to a match between Reigns and Miz, and while the "Big Dog" emerged victorious, his night ended by way of Miz's Skull-Crushing Finale into a steel chair. Miz and his Miztourage goons then mocked The Shield's fist bump, adding insult to injury.

This week, the night began with the individual former members of The Shield doing their own things, but it wouldn't end that way. To kickoff the show, Seth Rollins waged war with the monstrous Braun Strowman, who has been seething ever since his loss to Brock Lesnar at No Mercy. Rollins put in a valiant effort, but Strowman running powerslammed his way to victory, and continued the assault after the bell.

This brought out Rollins' tag team championship partner - and former Shield teammate - Dean Ambrose to fight off Strowman, only for him to fall at the hands of the "Monster Among Men" as well. Never one to not seize an opportunity, Rollins and Ambrose's tag team rivals Cesaro and Sheamus then appeared to pick the bones of the beaten down champions, inflicting even more damage.

For his part, Reigns did battle with The Miz again, this time with Miz's Intercontinental Championship on the line. Reigns took the Miztourage out of the equation early, seemingly guaranteeing a fair fight. However, with Reigns on the cusp of capturing the gold, Cesaro and Sheamus appeared again, this time to prevent Reigns from taking Miz's title. Miz was grateful for the assist, and the three heels then opted to execute The Shield's patented triple powerbomb on Reigns. The Miz once again stood tall over his fallen challenger.

With the show all but over, though, a convalescing Reigns was seen in the locker room, clearly in a lot of pain. Then, without speaking a word, Ambrose walked in, followed by Rollins. The three former brothers in arms then stared at each other briefly, before parting ways as Raw faded to black. Just like that, WWE made it absolutely clear that The Shield is going to reunite, and that Miz, Cesaro, and Sheamus will have hell to pay when they do.
